Face Sculptor vs. Showracemenu

Post » Sun Oct 20, 2013 3:41 am

I'm wanting to make a couple cosmetic changes to a character, but when I use the showracemenu command she loses her cheek color, lip color, and eyeshadow, and sometimes other settings so that I can't just tweak what I want to tweak. I need go through all the menues to make sure she doesn't have differently shaped eyes, etc, and even then I'm not sure.

Have y'all found this to be the case with the face sculptor also, or are your characters settings exactly what they were at character creation when you start editing?

They are always where I left them at character creation, they do not change unless I change them. I am currently on Xbox.

I'm on xbox so I only have the face butcher...
none of the sliders automatically change on my characters when I pay for the face changing thing.

Edit: My characters look exactly how they were during Character Creation until I change the way they look.

That showracemenu business is a real pain in the posterior. I end up having to completely redo every change I originally made. Fortunately, SkyUI disaplays number values for each slider setting. I have developed the habit of writing these down as I work on a character's face so I can duplicate changes later.

It sounds like the face sculptor might be a significant improvement, although I don't think it offers as many options as showracemenu.

Never knew that about SkyUI. I'd been studiously avoiding it, but you've just given me a reason to try it out now.

I'm pretty sure that the only option showracemenu has in addition to the face sculptor is the ability to change your race, so I much prefer the face sculptor for reasons already mentioned.

I'm very sorry, I got that completely wrong. *facepalm* The mod I'm thinking of is http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/29624/?, not SkyUI. Gah, I wasn't paying enough attention to what I was writing. Sorry about that.
