Post » Mon Oct 21, 2013 11:01 pm

Hi, i really enjoy playing skyrim and heartfire dlc however i cabs across a bug that is breaking my gameplay. My wife sylgja got kidnapped by Rochelle the red. I got the ransom note but no quest is in my quest log complete ir not. I may have killed rochelke before the quest can even start, i guess. I went to the location robbers gorge but, killed all the bandits bur no sign of wife or rochelle. How can i find my wife? Is there any fix for this soon? Thank you.

I don't know about your wife's kidnaping but that's from wiki about Rochelle The Red: (and the quest is the "Kidnapped For Ransom")

======

Not much is known about Rochelle, besides that fact that she is a unique bandit who can kidnap the Dragonborn's spouse.

Either Rochelle will make herself known to the Dragonborn in person, or a bandit will arrive at the Dragonborn's house giving them a note, stating that their spouse is being held for ransom.

The spouse will be held in a radiant location. The Dragonborn can either pay the ransom, or can travel to the location, killing each bandit, and freeing their captive spouse.

---------------------
The Dragonborn can arrive in time to prevent the kidnapping of their spouse, however Rochelle and the group of bandits will immediately become hostile.

Bug: Even if Rochelle did not hand the Dragonborn the note, she still might not be at the location mentioned in the letter.

So, what you can do:

  • Load a previous save, before your wife got kidnapped or you got the letter, wait for 31 days and continue your quests...
  • Look at Sylgias home. maybe she is not killed and see is in there (Sylgja's House is a house in the small mining settlement of Shor's Stone. It is located behind the outdoor campfire where the townsfolk gather every night.)
  • Wait for 31 days in your home - make a save. Then install Hearthfire again and load that save. (probably you will install the whole bunch of DLC's again)
