After putting close to 1000 hours into Skyrim, & having not played Morrowind in 10+ years I decided to revisit my TES roots. I told several of my friends that I had interest in replaying Morrowind & while 1-2 were excited about the idea, most felt I was simply being nostalgic. Not even 1 hour into the game, I fell in love all over again. This isn't just some game. Its one of the best games ever made. There are so many features this game has that are now absent from TES & all games for that matter, which saddens me. I hope in time Bethesda looks back at TES III & reconsiders adding elements it felt weren't fitting for TES 4/5. Such as:
- Spellmaking
- Non-scaling loot/enemies
- Text-based dialogue
- City's without cells
- Fame/massive faction questlines
- Birthsigns
- Quality storyline/writing
- Leveling System
- No fast travel via map
- No hand holding during quests
etc.
That said, it has been a wonderful experience so far & I would like to give a big thank you to all the people involved that have contributed to improving this game over the years. The game looks incredible. It certainly doesn't look like it is 10 years old. With Overhaul & additional mods it looks 2-3 years old, if that. I've received alot of positive feedback & advice from the community in my short time being back & its nice to be apart of the Morrowind community again.
