How good are the restoration attack spells?

Post » Mon Oct 21, 2013 7:55 pm

Since i don't use destruction, I use restoration, ajnd would like to take advantage of the attack spells against the undead. I'm currently level 47. If I'm fighting draugr death overlords, how well is sun fire with necromage going to do?

I find that they are decent but they are far from the most damaging. I only use them as a way to damage if I create a spellsword or witch hunter that does not use destruction magic. I otherwise use the spells for role playing but beyond that they do not do very well against the upper tier enemies.

Hmm, thanks. I use 2h/1H on my battlemage.

No problem friend.

Use your weapons when things get up close and personal use the sun magic qt a distance to try and shave off a few enemies before melee.

Restoration attack spells lack the destructive spells in terms of damage, but if you tend to use followers (except one) the greatest thing about it is they (the followers) will not take damage while blasting the undead.

My character, Zoe, was working her restoration skills yesterday, and went toe to toe with a drager death overlord using an ebony warhammer. She was casting Greater Ward with her left hand and Stendarr's aura with her right alternated with grand healing. Stendarr's aura worked quite well - took out the DDOL in about 4 castings. It destroyed half a dozen skeletons the first cast too!

Skeletons are weak, thus not surprising.

I think they're kind of overpowered. Took Hevnoraak down with 4 hits on master with the vamp bane and that was with a ward on the left hand 'cause I thought he was going to be a challenge. And if you use the aura, it will take down anything fairly fast and they cost almost nothing.
