Bounty not added

Post » Mon Oct 21, 2013 4:40 pm

Hi everyone,

I'm once again struggling with a weird problem - I followed the procedure in the Creation Kit to set up a custom crime faction. Now even though my "guards" react to crimes committed, I never get to see the "... bounty added to Region" message pop up, nor will the guards do anything else than attack and try to kill me. I added two seperate factions to my guards: IsGuardFaction and GuardDialogueFaction, though I had to re-create them since the original factions weren't in our masterfile anymore.

It looks like a Total-Conversion related problem, but is there any obvious setting I overlooked? What causes the game to add bounty on a players head when he commits a crime, be it stealing, murdering or pickpocketing? Is it something in the faction? Or maybe a setting for a specific region?

I'd be grateful for any advice. :)

Thanks in advance,

Nicolas

I wrote that tutorial! But it was a while ago...

Check all conditions to make sure they refer to your new IsGuardFaction and GuardDialogueFaction. Make sure that the guards (and the citizens you victimize with your crimes) have your regional crime faction.

Actually, it's probably this: All the important code related to crime is contained in a script called CrimeGuardsScript, attached to the DialogueCrimeGuards quest. If you cut that quest out, then you'll have to attach CrimeGuardsScript to your own quest (or otherwise transplant its contents), and redirect all of the pCGS properties in the dialogue.
