which effect for artifact cuirasses?

Post » Tue Oct 22, 2013 6:23 am

I am changing the effect of 3 artifact cuirasses (savior, ebony mail and lord mail), and I cannot decide between these 2 options (all effects are constant)

=======================================
OPTION 1

Savior
+25 light armor
+50 resist normal weapons
+25 resist frost

Ebony Mail
+25 medium armor
+15 sanctuary

Lord Mail
+25 heavy armor
+75 resist normal weapons

=======================================

OPTION 2

Savior
+25 light armor
+1/50 health points*

Ebony Mail
+25 medium armor
+1/100 health points*

Lord Mail
+25 heavy armor
+1/150 health points*

* these effects are scripted and influence both current and maximum health. The pc gets the full bonus if his health is 100%, half if the health is 50% etcc.. and so when the pc takes the armor off...
=======================================

which option sounds you better?

What's your reason for changing the enchantments so drastically? Most of the enchantment choices are lore-based.

I did it already for most of the items*. I change the effects according to my vision of them. I imagine a Walrock's ring should give fortify maximum magicka and restore magicka rather than fortify speed. A Necromance amulet should have to do with necromancy and so on. But I don't have a clear vision of these cuirasses :tongue:

*
Spoiler
mask of Dagoth Ur, command creatures and humanoids;
mask of clavicus, fortify intelligence, drain personality;
wraithguard, fortify attack, resist magicka, spell absorption;
sunder, damaga health, damage magicka,
keening, absorb health, absorb magicka;
crosier of S lothis, calm creature/humanoids;
spear od hircine, summons 2 wolves (even used by hircine)
Shoes of St. Rilms, water walking
stalhrim armor: resist normal weapons, resist frost, fortify medium armor
stalhrim weapons: weakness to frost, frost damage

A lot of it just seems rather arbitrary, like the Masque granting an Intelligence bonus when every legend about the Masque has it enhance the wearer's appearance. Likewise, the Necromancer's Amulet was named for its owner, the King of Worms, rather than for its necromantic qualities.

Changing the artifact cuirasses just makes them seem less unique, IMHO, and nerfs them pretty heavily. You trade off a lot of resistances and other effects for...more health and armor?
