I Don't Have Random Vampire Attacks Any More?

Did they make it so you no longer have any random attacks? I have not seen one in white run in a long time. I also tend to fast travel.

The vampires that attack you in the wilderness are part of a group of random enemies (Thugs, Thalmor, Marauders etc) so you have a random chance of getting a vampire attack randomly when you get a random attack, if that makes any sense.

So, are you getting any random encounters? If yes, then the Vampires will come along eventually.

And, Fast Travel is one way to reduce random attacks in the field. Other than Dragons that is.

I get them a lot less often after the 1.9 patch. I miss them.

I actually just started the DG line, I thought like pre 1.9 that you get more random vampires atking cities when you fast travel.

The Vampire attacks that occur in the cities are a different group of Vampires spawned by DG. Basically, if you are not near the front gate of a city between the hours of 8PM to 8AM (or somewhere in there) then you should not see a town attacked by Vampires.

They still happen if you don't do Dawnguards main quest. I think the chances are higher if you start the main quest. I know I got a lot of Dawnguard attacks while I was a Vampire. That got old real fast but that ended when I destroyed the Dawnguard.

The 1st attack is pretty much unavoidable and that usually happens around level 8-9 at night. After that, time of day and if you fast travel. I find that fast traveling into a city increases the chances of a vampire attack.
