Any lore friendly mods you could suggest to me?

So, I decided to do Oblivion again.

And I have installed the Oblivion Mod Manager, which could be of use if I have to deactivate or activate a mod.

The ''download with manager'' button on the site doesn't work for me. But that's not that much of a big deal, I'll just download the mods manually.

Anyway, I'm always open for mods, and I'd like to know if you guys happen to know a few.

On this moment I'm looking for a character texture mod that isn't too glamorous and all. So I'm probably going to use the ''natural faces'' mod, but if you know any other mods for this then I'm open for them.

I'm also looking for hair mods, but I have no luck finding any of my tastes, they all seem too glamorous and unrealistic, same goes for armours and clothing, really.

So character textures, hair, armours and clothing are the mods I'm especially considering. But mods outside of these are just as welcome.

Thank you for any suggestions. :)

Two words: Wrye Bash.

EDIT: This thread has an aweful lot of good mod recommendations, most of which are lore friendly: http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1472297-basic-vanilla-modding-recommendations/

COBL, which is mentioned in that thread, has balanced races that changes the faces and hair styles. Most of your texture replacers that give you nice looking cloths are going to require a body replacer like Roberts or HGEC. Can't link those because of the versions sans undergarments.

There is also Oblivion Character Overhaul, which is the sina qua non of face mods, but it is not compatible with balanced races from COBL. If you want the racial stats modifications of balanced races, you will have to wait for someone to make an OCO patch, which I hear will happen as soon as OCO 2.0 is released.

Seriously, though, take the time to learn Wrye Bash. It is the way to go to install and manage your mods in Oblivion, especially if you are playing around with textures. You will also want to look at this thread. http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1474883-optimizing-my-game/page-2

I might try Wrye Bash sometime later. OBMM does it well enough for me.

Anyway, thanks for the link.

Good luck. OBMM may be okay as long as you don't want to uninstall any replacers and as long as you don't pick two mods that require a bashed patch to work together. But I have heard a lot of people on here who had to do a complete uninstall and reinstall when they ran into trouble using OBMM or NMM. Careful use of Wrye Bash can prevent a lot of that.

Yeah but I kind of fear that I might screw up Wrye Bash when trying to bash. It's been a while since I've played Oblivion, so I'll play for some time again and put in some mods with OBMM. And I might go to Wrye Bash when I feel it's the right moment to do so.

Well, when that time comes, the Wrye Bash pictorial guide is very helpful in learning how to use Wrye Bash. http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/35230

I was a total computer illiterate when I first learned Wrye Bash, so I can understand how overwhelming it is. Took me a long while and a lot of study to feel comfortable with using it. But it saved my bacon a few times so far when I had inadvertantly screwed up something, but with Wrye Bash was able to figure it out and correct it.

One more thing you can do with Wrye Bash that I don't think you can do with OBMM is change your install order. That can be very helpful if experimenting with texture replacers where you want to try different things from different mods.
