Dead Money Stealth?

Post » Sat Oct 26, 2013 1:51 pm

on my third playthrough of this dlc.............hated it then I loved it then I got to the vault and hated it again! Went to the forums for the final SNEAK to get all the gold ( had assassin suit, 90 stealth, il fantoma etc ) and guys were talking about their stealth boys!!! Well, I've been through most of this dlc 2 1/2 times and found NO stealth boys or any holotapes of them for the vending machines and as we all know, we lose all our gear when entering Sierra Madre; WHERE ARE THEY???? do any of you kind hearted punters know?

ps.....wot's with the hologram venders? -- can't get any transactions going with them at all ( no caps, no working money)!

Stealth boys are random. Sometimes they're there, sometimes they're not. It is possible to sneak out without stealth boys, it just requires precise timing and/or glitch exploits.

There are no stealth boy holotapes. This isn't Fallout 3 where you get loads of gamebreaking gear when you're level 3.

You get you gear back when you finish the DLC and you're back in the mojave.

The only holovendors that work are the ones in the casino once you get the power up.

Trade the stuff you want to get rid of for pre-war money - sell that once you get back to the Mojave.

"Precise timing" ----- you're right! I tried about 50 times and gave up, decided to leave with just 4 bars. This sort of thing ruins the fun.

tx any way fellas.................

My last playthrough of DM I didn't get any stealthboys. Instead I got something better, Turbo! Fun fact, you don't need stealth to sneak out. You just need stealth to prevent Elijah from seeing you while he's walking to the monitor. Once he opens up the monitor you can stand up and walk. He can't close the forcefields while he's fiddling with the monitor. I did it with turbo since he stays at the computer monitor for a lot longer with it. No stealth necessary. If you want to do it a cheaper way you can just use the mine method.

in my fifty attempts, he would look back over his shoulder in my direction behind the right cistern. he would then turn back to the monitor but no matter what I did, he would detect me in seconds.......even if I didn't move AT ALL from my hiding place he would detect me.....go figure!

however, you wouldn't believe it! finally found ONE stealth boy in the theatre dealing with Dean........unbelievable but true. but tx Raz, i'll try some turbo as well......I LOVE DEAD MONEY but HATE the penultimate scene because amazing stealth has nothing what-so-ever to do with the mission "sneak past Elijah"!

yeah you can do it without using a stealthboy or turbo. when you're in the vault pickup all the gold then walk over to the door and drop them as close to the door as you can get(they'll drop as one bar) then go over to the computer/monitor and talk to elijah after you go through all that and he agree's to come down to talk to you, walk back over to the door and pick up the gold and walk out of the vault , head right & hide behind the generator. stay crouched while wearing that black assassian armor(the black version of the sneaky stealth suit you get in old world blues) & work your way around as elijah makes his way to the vault door, wait until he's using the comp by the vault door then get up and walk out the door he came through,if timed right you can make it out with all the gold before he knows what happened and as a bonus you can get the safety depoist box achievement for trapping him in the vault :D ...

it's mostly good timing with some stealth involved
