Civil war Question - help my game is stuck?

Post » Sat Oct 26, 2013 6:39 pm

Hey all, PC gamer here and I think my game is stuck. I joined the Imperials and started the Civil war quest. I have the large game play book for Skyrim and I have noticed that my game actually skipped over the part of Quest Reunification of Skyrim -False Front. It sent me to wipe out some bandits in some fort then I went to the Imperial camp outside Riften, and we catch the Stormcloaks wagon of weapons and gold with Hadvar. He tells me to return to camp. The commander Rikke always says "you have something to report?" She never gives me the next quest . Now I don't have any Civil War Mod added to this game so any thoughts? Also No I can't go back to an old save I simply don't have any saves to go back to on my PC. Help!

Keep clicking on her and wait a min or two...the quest will eventually update.

Have you done the MQ? Did you do Season Unending? You might have won the hold which you would have taken during "A False Front" through negotiation (it should be Winterhold on the Imperial side, right? It's been so long since I did the CW on that side. I know it's Morthal if you're a Stormcloak).

As for the Rikke problem you could always try the "leave the cell, wait a few days and return" trick. Save manually first, of course.

And that's the key word for future reference. Save often, save manually, and in new slots. Don't rely on autosaves, don't use just one or two savefiles that you overwrite all the time. And since you're on PC, if you haven't already, install the http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/19//?. I don't know if this particular glitch might be fixed by the patch or not, but it fixes so many minor bugs and stuff that I can't see no reason whatsoever not to use it.

You sided with the Imperials. That is why your game glitched. Guess the game is telling you that you picked the wrong side. Funny how nobody posts threads saying the SC questline is glitched

 haha that's a good one funny how they have to resort to hiring a known assassin the Listener their Kings killer to win this war but what can I say desperate times call for desperate measures, hehe.. Long Live Dark Brotherhood...........

There is absolutely no wrong side. The quest is just bugged because of something stupider than that.

Side of anything does not matter because the people who report just had it happen. Which side it happens on is nothing important.

Baloney.

Try interacting with the cooking pot in the camp, OP. This sometimes causes the missing dialogue to appear for some reason.

Otherwise, there is no alternative but to reload.
