You know what's really stupid?

Post » Sat Oct 26, 2013 11:40 am

I lay a rune, waiting for this dragon to land right on it (cause they do) - then a guard runs right over it!!! 40 bounty added to the Reach and I'm getting assaulted by 2 guards and a dragon at the same time.

Aside from guards being stupid and running through a rune of any sort, why in the name of Talos would a guard set off the rune in the first place? Why would they be considered an enemy?

So aggravating :swear:

In the eyes of the law, you're just a vigilante.

You want to join in the fight? Fine. Just don't let any of your actions hurt the highly trained expert dragon-killing guards.

Nords aren't the brightest knives in the shed.

I think you mean the sharpest bulbs in the bunch.

@OP. I like it like that, it adds realism to the game!

How is the rune supposed to know who's the enemy?

I don't see a problem. If you interfered with a police chase in real life and blew up a cop in the process, you'd be in trouble too. The stupid thing is that the guards turn on you instead of focusing on the real threat - catching you is pointless if the whole town goes up in flames in the meantime.

Good. All deserve punishment for attempting to harm one of Alduin's holy children. Perhaps that guard was but an enlightened savage? Perhaps there is yet hope for the Nords of today?

Runes don't explode on allies or your own atros, so why do they on NPCs that aren't hostile towards you?

Same thing if you look at what excessive alcohol consumption does to you.

One Nord didn't get it.

This guy got it.

True. Need to be able to drink a lot when you're unable to see satire.

Nope.

Mer have an evolved sense of humor that takes refinement to be able to process. Now that you spotted what was said, can you figure out why it was so funny to be worded that way?

Not if you're a Nord.

So much fail, hahaha. It would be sharpest. No one says "Brightest bulb in the shed." For that matter, it's not sharpest knife either. It's sharpest tool.

Good day to be a Nord.

 I agree.

People do say that someone isn't the "brightest bulb on the Christmas tree" though. An extensive list of other "not the brightest" variations http://www.jmm.org.au/articles/14071.htm.
