Is what I'm asking even possible?

Post » Sat Nov 02, 2013 5:51 pm

The first time I played Skyrim it was epic. I couldn't help but want to explore and do every single quest the game had to offer. I couldn't stop playing it. It's been almost 2 years since I first played the game. I've went back and tried to get into it again but I couldn't manage to get that same feeling for the game. I even bought Dawnguard which was interesting for a while, but never really stuck with me too much. I'm downloading Skyrim again cause It's been a long time since I've played it and maybe I've forgotten about a lot of the content.

I was wondering if there's a complete overhaul of the game that could completely change the experience of the game for me?

I want it to make it feel almost like it's a new game.
I want that sort of immersion I had when I first played it.
I almost want it to feel like a different world
I want it to be challenging but not over the top. Through my first play through I ended up Min maxing full Daedric gear and could one shot almost everything.

What you want is a mod list. This topic would do better for you, if moved to the Mod Forum. Hit your "report" button under your avatar and ask the moderators to move it for you. As for your inquiry? Here is a few.

Nexus

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/9286/?

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/9557/?

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/11163/?

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/26228/?

Other

http://erkeilmods.altervista.org/skyrim/enhanced-mighty-dragons/

http://erkeilmods.altervista.org/skyrim/provides a host of overhaul mods.

Also... I would recommend getting all of the DLC as that is just more content. Plus, a lot of great mods require them. Browse the nexus for an incredible amount of new land mods that rival the official mods.

The live another life mod looks really cool. I got sick and tired of the original start.

Sorry for the double post. I almost don't want to buy any addons. I bought dawnguard and it was almost no fun at all.

I assume I'm going to have to download numerous mods or is there one big mod pack that I can download that will help achieve what I'm looking for.

You just have to pick and mix what mods would suit the way you play or want to play, just have a look around and you'll eventually find what you want.

Alrighty. I'll start going through some on nexus. I've got live another life and the diesease one bookmarked. Any other mods you can suggest? Is SkyUI really good? Are crafting addons worth it?

SkyUI is very good in my opinion - one thing it offers over the vanilla UI is that you can now sort through your chests more easily. Before, you were provided with one long list of items in a chest; it's now sorted the same as the SkyUI inventory, with different categories.

Besides Skyrim Redone (mentioned by Jesuis Cache-Cache) another massive "new experience" overhaul that is becoming very popular is http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/19281/? by Xarrian and Ogerboss.

What about a good crafting mod? One that adds tons of unique weapons and armor.

There are only three and they are a requirement for a lot of mods.

As for crafting mods? Complete overhaul mods, like SkyRe and others, will already incorporate changes to the crafting skills. Any other crafting mods will no doubt cause conflicts, unless stated otherwise by the mpod author.

As for weapon and armor mods? They are damn near limitless.

Amidian Armors and weapon packs is a retexture mod that is amazing.

Immersive weapons

Immersive Armors.

The list is too much, just browse the Nexus under the weapons and armors tab for what you like.

Also... I'm not sure if you are familiar with installing and using mods, but make sure you are well informed in the use of a mod manager and tools like BOSS and TES5Edit. Reading and fully understanding all of the information provided by the mod author is critical.

Being a responsible mod user is the absolute key to playing a worry free game.

Perhaps try role playing if you haven't done it yet. Maybe check the Skyrim Blog for some new fresh character creation ideas.

I'm tempted to get the dragonborn mod but if I'm not going to play it for sure then it's a waste of money. Ye know?

Never been big on the whole roleplaying thing. What keeps me playing these games is the world and awesome story.

I would highly recommend SkyUI, when I stared using it I never looked back, it makes things so much easier. As for crafting add-ons, I would also recommend, the vanilla crafting leaves much to be desired and crafting mods go some way into fixing that. Btw the way I would strongly suggest trying out role-play, it improves your experience of the game massively if you put your mind to it.

Extra content isn't a waste, as far as I'm concerned. Besides it's not just about the DLC itself. You will not be able to run the overhaul mods and others without them.

That's the mindset i had playing Oblivion for the first time. Then the great members of the Oblivion forum opened my eyes. I started playing Oblivion 5 years ago and I did everything with one character. little did I know, I was ruining my game. I struggled, much like you now, trying to get back into it after the first playthrough.

I vowed to not do that with Skyrim. I realized what it was to create a character with a personality profile and focus on a particular set of skills the supported that profiule. Every choice made was based form that core. What quests to do, how to react to people and even what direction to go.

Just because you knew the Dagger of Cuts Deep is in Smokey Harrow Cave doesn't mean your character does.

The simple rule of RPing is... ' If it's not fitting to my character's personality... Don't do it."

Requiem is the only true way of playing Skyrim. If you'd try it it would be quite something new.

It'd be a waste if it was something I didn't use.
