Mods seamlessly implemented into the world?

Hey everyone,

I've recently started modding Skyrim after a while. The amount of great content is pretty much ridiculous. Makes the game such a fresh experience.

While I do love added content, one thing that I don't enjoy is noticing the mod in the game as a mod. I prefer the ones that disguise the mod by implementing the additions in the game world. Rather than, say, adding new weapons that are only available to the player via forges, they add the weapons to the loot list. Rather than me personally knowing I want the item and going immediately to a forge and crafting it, I'll find it randomly off a dead bandit chief. It really helps with immersion.

I know of some of the most popular ones, like the Book of Silent and Immersive Weapons and Armor, but I was wondering if there was a nice list kept somewhere of immersive mods and if anyone would be kind enough to recommend some of the higher quality ones I might enjoy to aid me as I search.

Thanks in advance!

Toot Toot. That's my own horn, fair warning.

Sadly the way skyrim works its quite a bit of work to get modded stuff around in a reasonable way. The mod author has to add them to the leveled lists and there are a lot of those. Even worse the random enchanted items you find are actually their own item and every one has to be made by the modder and then also added to leveled lists. Its a ton of work and you need to know about different parts of the CK than just how to add a weapon.

Inspired by Leviathan's Automatic Variants mod (which is awesome) I made http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/32339/a patcher that will take all the mod added stuff and mostly automatically do all that for you. Its rather clunky and I've had RL stuff so I haven't kept it up to date but it will get the job done. I'm working on getting back up to speed and hope to get kinks worked out of it soon.

Immersive Armors and Immersive Weapons add items to leveled lists and thus those items can be found on NPCs, containers, etc. Using Wrye Bash to merge leveled lists is recommended to make sure they really do work as they should.

http://skyrimgems.com/ and the http://wiki.step-project.com/STEP:2.2.7 both have lists that are generally lore friendly with descriptions of the mods.

In addition to Immersive Armors & Weapons, I like (Nexus is down, so I can't link):

Weapons of the 3rd Era MoS Edition

Heavy Skaal Armor - adds heavy & light armors and a great backpack. It doesn't exactly fit your request for leveled loot, but there's a boss character to loot for some of the stuff, but most of it you'll just forge yourself.

Cloaks of Skyrim - adds a huge variety of cloaks to many NPCs

Winter is Coming - adds fancier fur-lined cloaks to NPCs, works with above

Tribunal Masks - Judgement Day - Adds custom Tribunal masks to 6 different boss NPCs.

Troll Hunter Armor by Hothtrooper44 - same guy who does Immersive Armors, adds troll armor with several helmet options. Doesn't add to lists, but does require you to collect ingredients off of trolls to forge.

Aesir Armor - haven't tried this yet, but I intend to, adds a dungeon with a boss who has unique armor for high-level characters (30+)
