Mod Investigation

Hey, I think this is needed. You can post your suspicions of Bethesda inspiring themselves from the mods of previous games, in vanilla Skyrim. Let me have the first case.

It seems Bethesda used the mod "Lakeview", a house mod made for ES:IV Oblivion. The house was placed on the shore of Lake Rumare with an awesome view of the Imperial City. Now I've noticed that there is a house called Lakeview Manor.

You started a thread on this because of an Oblivion mod that just happens to have the same name as one of the houses in a DLC?

That mod isn't anything like the official mod, Hearthfire. Just a coincidental name. Hearthfire is a "build your own home" concept that was brought up in the Game Jam.

Some mod ideas were taken from oblivion and used in Skyrim, yes. It's possible that house in the DLC used the mod from oblivion as a source of inspiration. That doesn't mean they ported it into Skyrim.

Any house built on the shore of a lake would probably be named "Lakeview", don't you think?

Are you saying that mod authors created mods for Skyrim ( rebuilt not imported ) that were mods created for Oblivion?

Or...

Beth used mods created for Oblivion and created their own version as vanilla content for Skyrim?

I really don't care man. I stopped trying to be interesting around here years ago, when no one cared for my sense of humor. You want 'exciting people'? Go to that screenshot thread...

I still don't get that interpretation form that. However, if that is indeed the case.

I'm going to need some better examples than just a underwhelming simple player ohme of the same name.

Now FONV form FO3? That is a prime example. Nothing to do with Beth. Obsidian was on their own with the additions. It was their choice to implement the mods for NV that were created for FO3. Every single new feature for NV was a fan created mod for FO3.

I guess they also used Project Nevada, a mod for FONV, since the sprinting added by that mod perfectly matches the sprinting in Skyrim.

Also, It doesn't have to be true. Just a SUSPICION.
