Places that had lots of potential

Post » Wed Nov 06, 2013 7:57 pm

These are places that were interesting but could have been better. Please ass yours

1. Blackreach- would have loved more information on the slaves/servants and maybe side quests/merchants etc(resistance group or something)place is massive but not as much to do as there could have been.
2. Vale in dawnguard- more monsters, uses for vale skins. More reasons to revisit
3. Winterhold - theres the college and 2 buildings. There could have been a player house etc
4 morthal, rorikstead and other small towns and inns. For most there's 1 real quest and no real reason to revisit

There's something real creepy about Rorikstead.

It's almost too peaceful, too fortunate. The people are too content. Thee Deep ones are trying a different tactic here, since Hackdirt got wiped out a few times.

I like that someone else remembers The Deep Ones.

It might have been cool to have some Mole Men like people in the Blackreach to interact with. As it was, it was a difficult slog through a huge Dwemer ruin to get there, and there was not enough incentive to go back. I know there is a shortcut way, but that gate closed on me and I could not get back in that way.

As for the towns, all the towns could have used more quests. There are never enough quests.

Hackdirt was my favorite place in the game, because I totally stumbled on it early on, just wandering. I LOVED the creepy vibe there. I got a similar feeling with my Conjuror while spending the afternoon in Rorikstead today. Hopefully I saved that Eric kid by giving his Adventuring career a head start.

Rorikstead reminds me of Fallout 3's Andale.

A place in Oblivion. Find the Master Trainer for Mercantile and she will set you on the path.

Not a location, but the civil war quest line had soooo much potential. It ended up being kind of dull.

The horse thief in the wagon opening cut scene is from Rorikstead. If that town was so prosperous why did it produce a thief? As matter, what is so oppressive in all Skyrim that procures so many bandits? The only real negative influence I can see is skooma. Lots of land to farm prospect but everyone wants to raid.

I'm not sure I follow your reasoning here. Prosperity breeds thieves. It a town or a region isn't doing well thieves will not stick around. Thieves go where the money is.

Disenfranchised masses in a warrior culture, on the run from one side or the other from not wanting to fight, from having nothing and no one do to the horrors of war, much of the land doesn't look arable. Add to the fact that this is the homeland of a warrior culture, so there is a lot of scorn on "Milk Drinkers" who in reality, are probbably the very reason most nords aren't homeless naked cannibals. They band together for mutual love of warfare, brotherhood because the world does not want them, and simple survival in this harsh, frozen, war torn land.

And Lokir may have been born there, but remember we were caught outside of Darkwater crossing (near riften/windhelm area). It seems like he was just trying to get OUT of skyrim, and didnt have the means to buy a horse of his own.

Never thought of that. Just assumed he was going sell the horse but yeah I guess he was on an adventure. "You're not going to kill me !!!" And the gingerbread man ran as fast as he can.
