Dragonborn - Smiles all around!

Post » Thu Nov 07, 2013 3:20 pm

Anyone else started smiling like hell after hearing some of the Morrowind outdoor OST when entering Raven Rock for the first time? Huge nostalgia, all you Morrowind players will know what I mean!
Only just got Dragonborn and it was a very pleasant surprise.
What do you think of the DLC overall?

Dragonborn was definitely the best of the three.

I just began it and indeed the surprise was quite comforting! I was a bit worry about this piece of Morrowind remade but everything is right, well the netches don't seem right but, oh well... Funnily enough, I feel a bit like I'm back home out there.

Dawnguard was hands down the best Skyrim DLC for me. I enjoyed Dragonborn, what with the Morrowind nostalgia and all that, but it's main quest was embarrassingly short and after completing almost all of what Solstheim had to offer, I've never really had much of an urge to go back through it on newer characters. Give me Dawnguard's storyline, particularly 'Touching the Sky' as well as its new items, cast and locations any day.

(More) on topic: Yeah, hearing the Morrowind OST again was fantastic. So much nostalgia came from the smaller things as well, such as scathecraw, sujamma, etc.

Really enjoyed the DLC, especially collecting all the black books and most of all the addition of Stalhrim armour which I think looks great. Have fun with it and hope it enhances your play through.

Didn't get Dawnguard, but I LOVED Dragonborn. It was $10.00 well spent.

Also liked Hearthfire well enough, more for the family element than the house-building (though I have a couple of nice pads).

I plan to do Dragonborn for the very first time with a character I just started. This thread makes me look forward to it with much anticipation!

Quite so. After completing everything there was to do in Dragonborn and returning to Skyrim, I just had to go back to Solstheim moments later. They place brings back some many good memories, I couldn't help but to stay.

It's too bad Bethesda put more effort in Morrowind! nostalgia than in the writing and lore for the DLC's MQ.

I still enjoyed it nonetheless.

I liked all 3 DLC for their own purpose, being able to create a personal house was nice (and a good way to farm some smithing) and dragonborn showed the history of what it means to be dragonborn and dawnguard gave players the ability to become a legitimate vampire! As for story I liked dawnguard much much more, but all had their ups and downs..

I remember looking into one of the urns on the dock and thinking, "Wow! Ash yams! I'd forgotten about those."

Don't like Dawnguard that much, except for Serana. I thought/think it was just to use up some ugly vampire models they had laying around. Don't like the vamp lords at all, and am unmoved by the perks for them or the werewolves.

Morrowind has some of THE most beautiful music. It was nice to hear it in Dragonborn.
