Hi. I have 2 issues I could really use some help with.
1) All the custom voices I make, either though the construction kit or audacity, are too quiet.
I can actually make it so loud that it distorts on playback, but it sounds like a distorted whisper in game.
This isn't a problem with turning wav files int xwm files. I've playtested with wavs and the same issue happens.
Is there a "best" practices for recording somewhere? I can't seem to isolate what the problem is.
2) I don't understand how to make .fuz files.
All my wave files are 300 to 500kb, and simply changing the file type to .fuz doesn't compress the file, leaving me with dozens of files that are 300 to 500kb. That can't be right...
I use xWMAEncode to turn Wav files into xwm files. These compress nicely.
I also have a BSA unpacker to get copies of vanilla sound files and create .fuz files for them.
How can I make .fuz files from custom wav files and actually have them compress?
I've read all the standard tutorials on this subject, but I can't seem to find anything that talks about these problems. Any ideas?
