Dead Money - Christine

Post » Fri Nov 08, 2013 3:37 am

So I'm getting towards the end of Dead Money and have already saved Dog/God from killing himself and am now working my way up to Christine. My goal for this run was to save all three of them, but Christine is just super hostile and I can't turn her around. I thought I'd been very careful not to say or do anything that would offend her and I didn't make her go down the elevator shaft during the Gala trigger mission either. I followed the suggestion on the Wiki where you compare her to Elijah, after which she should either turn over the key or turn hostile and chase you, but then become calm again. That doesn't happen and there's no conversation path I can follow that makes her cooperate.

Does anyone know if the trick where she follows you and then calms down actually works? And what could I possible have done wrong that makes her impossible to negotiate with in Last Luxuries?

Well I think you can't say "I have will have to stop you", when she says she must kill Elijah. I ended up giving her a neutral response, and could then reason with her, and talk her down. But this was already after being nice nice with her throughout, including not sending her in the elevator. Can't remember what else in a particular.

I never had a problem with her except for the "I will have to stop you" line. Didn't know it was so hard to keep her alive. I just don't send her to the elevator. I thought Dean was harder to keep alive.

I seem to be on good terms with Dean, but Christine is being a b***h. And it WILL get her killed.

You should be able to do it without the perk though. I did. I wish I could walk you through it better...

I must've said something wrong at some point without realizing it. Geeez, it's like a real life girlfriend. You think everything is aaalllll-right and suddenly you get Ms. Sourpants giving you the evil eye and you're all like "....WTF just happened?? What did I do?!" =/

haha. She is very hard to read, especially at the start. Maybe what helped me was having captions turned on. Her body language was described while her avator didn't really show much.
