Nightingale Duties

So, my character has been dutifully performing as both Listener and Nightingale.

While I love the abilities of a Nightingale mixed in with my Vampire Lord powers, mastery of Illusion, and all of my Assassin abilities and Skills, I was wondering about those duties that Nocturnal and Karliah alluded to.

The main duty of a Nightingale is to defend the Twilight Sepulcher and the Skeleton Key from would-be thieves and attackers. But in over a hundred hours od play-time as a Nightingale, I have never gotten a message requiring me to do anything for Nocturnal, nor to defend her Temple.

Has anybody had "the Shadows" contact them about this? Was it a part of the game, maybe a Radiant Quest, that got dropped?

While I'm having a great time committing my murders and robbing the Jarls' Palaces blind, I kind of want to do more for this alluded-to Duty.

Anyone have any insight/opinions?

I find it strange that after all this time you ask if theres a quest related to the nightingales. i do get your point though, i always wondered why there wasnt anymore quests for the temple. but i guess they just wanted to close the guild's questline with returning the key.

If you think about it, its not that surprising that your role as a nightingale ends here, the listener doesnt have much quests to do after you finish the faction's questline, save for the boring random quests where you talk to the night mother and do contracts. same thing will all other factions. after you become the leader its kind of finished.

Well, I figured maybe a glitch had worked it's way in somewhere, and usually if I play long enough, those "key-off-event" glitches usually clear themselves out ad start working properly. But after 100+ hours of playtime, I figured that it might not be a glitch but instead something that was intended but then dropped due to constraints.

I rather like the Assassination contracts as it fits well into my RP. I still do the Thieves Guild recurring Quests with Delvin and Vex as well, but I just couldn't help think that the role of Nightingale shouldn't have more to it.

Not anywhere near as frequent as some other recurring events, but even if it's extremely rare, having to defend the Twilight Sepulcher at least once in a great while would be a welcome shake-up.

Unfortunately I think the Nightengale duties are implied, rather than real. It would've been really cool for Nocturnal to call upon you to defend the TS, or any Daedric prince that you;ve helped for that matter.
