Falmer...

Post » Sat Nov 09, 2013 9:25 am

I don't post here a whole lot (that may have to change...XD) but I wanted to ask your opinion.

Falmer and Chaurus. Every time I face them, they kick the dova out of me. I think I remember reading somewhere that Chaurus are weak to flame but...I can't remember.

What are the best melee weapons/bows to use against them?

Don't even get me started on the Chaurus Hunters.

Also...I tend to have a very hard time with the Dwemer contstructs. Like the sphere, and the ballista. Any tips on those?

:wallbash: Any help is appreciated.

For Falmer and Chaurus I tend to sneak and snipe, frenzy if possible.

Being a vampire helps with those, it also makes you immune to poison. If all else fails, the frantic retreat is a recognised military maneuver.

For ballistas I tend to try and distract them with a familiar (also good for Falmer) while I cast my highest level armour spell and get up real close, then circle round them as I hit them so that they can't hit me.

Otherwise I've always found that if enemies seriously outlevel me it is usually better to make sure they don't see me. Most of the time if I can sneak past an enemy I will have extreme difficulty with, I will.

Man. The Falmer. I always have a shield on me. The perk 'Reflect Blows' can be very useful against them.

I don't use conjuration, so that's out. XD I'd hate to have to use sneak on any and all characters though, I can see why you do it, however.

I guess I just like to go all out and beat the crap out of everything, but its hard when they do more damage to you than you can take. x_x

EDIT: Huh, I never knew that about shields. I've never actually used them much.

Remember they are blind so you can get pretty close with a reasonable sneaking level for a quick kill if you time it right. Also try to pick them off one at a time, they're tough in groups.

I prefer playing vampires, so sneaking, sniping and illusion/ conjuration come naturally for me. :)

It's a matter of how much points you've put in health really. I never have more than 150hp so making sure things like Briarhearts and Falmer Warmongers don't ever see me is paramount.

I'd look into upping your armour rating, either through potion or through an alteration spell if you want to take them head-on. Ive always found cloak spells to be helpful as well, to take them down just that bit faster. Try poisoning your blade.

Oh yes they are. x_X I guess a follower may be a good idea as well?

Merari, I wasn't sure if Falmer were resistant to any sort of poison, so I think I'll try that.

Fire works good on them, and as stated, a shield with a decent sword. Unless your sneak is up there, there hearing is good. Always be careful around them, for they like to get you from behind also. Try to single them out or use a good bow and as stated, snipe them before they see you.

A war axe works good against the "metals" and also a mace. They are tough also.

Kind of odd how the Falmer have the best and most dangerous marksmen in the entire game.

I read somewhere that Dwarven Automatons are weak to shock.

Nothing distracts them. No lights nor bells. They arch by sense of smell.

Tried shock on the dwarven spheres and spiders, and almost died twice. Shock spells take hardly any health from them, and it takes 6 or 7 hits to do them in. Fire takes about 2 or 3 hits.

With Chaurus Hunters some of these Falmer holes are probably the scariest and creepiest dungeons in TES along with those Sixth House bases.

No kidding...blind archers, but they are amazing shots

If you have quick reflexes, falmer and spheres are pretty easy. You can just back away from the falmer lunge and sidestep power attacks from the spheres. Dodge and counter attack, staggering if possible. That's how I do it

The Falmer and Chaurus are some of the strongest creatures and Chaurus Reapers are incredibly deadly to fight what with their poison and attacks. There is one thing that works really well however. Animal Allegiance. Chaurus are affected by it and Kyne's Peace. Turn them against their masters as it were! :D
