Hoping this forum is still active enough to get a response. It seems that every time I kill an NPC who has fired a laser rifle, the game immediately CTDs. This makes the game largely unplayable with all those Enclave running around.

Weird issue. I found http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/918428-fallout-3/50371930 from someone with the same issue and he/she doesn't even mention using mods - plus there's no answer so no fix. Unless someone here knows about it I'd recommend making a save just before this is likely to occur (i.e. when facing an Enclave soldier with a Laser Rifle) and then experimenting around with that save (i.e. first check w/o mods to see if it's a rare vanilla glitch, then uncheck half of the mods, rinse/repeat so you can pin it down).

Well, an educated guess would be that there is a problem with the world model of a Laser Rifle. In that case the game should crash also when you drop a laser rifle.

Try reinstalling WMK and remaking your merged patch.
