4 years ago I met the best game ever, called Oblivion. Since then I've spent more than 600 hours on it in 3 years. Sometimes a break of a few months. But for the last 12 months I nearly played It. I played Oblivion on PC with all expansions and over 400 mods.

In july I bought a used PS3 and decided to buy Skyrim, wich I couldn't play on my PC. So in july I played Oblivion for a few hours as a warming up for Skyrim, which I was waiting for to be delivered. Unfortunatly, my PS3 is damaged and I can't play Skyrim anymore until I get it fixed. This happened in September.

So now I want to play vanilla Oblivion again with the DLC until my PS3 gets fixed. Any tips to keep the game fun for someone who has completed all DLC, all faction quests except the Thieves Guild, the MQ, and a lot of other quests? I've also never tried the Arch-Mage archetype in Oblivion. In Skyrim an Arch-Mage never gets bored. Also I have only done the Daedric Quests of Azura and Sheogorath.

You've done a lot of questlines, I see. My advice would be to (maybe) try making a character who doesn't do quests. I've had 3 or 4 characters who never did any quests, except maybe the Tutorial stuff. What happens is the roleplaying becomes exclusively yours, if you are able to get into the same head-space that I was. No dev wrote this for you, so the RPing becomes very personal.

I had a thief who lived exclusively in the Imperial City, could not read, and had a desire to break into every home and shop in the Imperial City. She did a bit of pickpocketing, and almost always had a bounty. If the guards were hot to catch her, she would run into the sewers. I don't know if you've been down there, but there's a LOT of area to explore. Lots of places to hide. Wanda Bone learned the sewer system so well, she could eventually outrun any Imperial Guard! And when she finally went to jail, it was because she (and I) would be truly exhausted from running all the time!

Wanda was contacted by the Thieves Guild, started the very first quest (the journal one) but she never finished it. That was not her. She much preferred being independent.

See where I'm going with this? That roleplay was exclusively MINE. In some ways, being with Wanda was more thrilling than being with one of my quest-motivated characters.
