anyone else never completely loot bodies?

Post » Tue Nov 12, 2013 11:39 am

I will usually loot a body for a weapon, arrows, or a potion or two..

But I can never bring myself to loot a dead bodies armor.. unless of course its an artifact of some kind..

I just feel, if my character is looting the clothes off corpses, he/she must have some kind of really weird Fetish or should be diagnosed with some really weird Psychiatric problem..
its just.. not something that is commonly done throughout human history...

Anyone else who can't bring themselves to fully loot certain things off of bodies for whatever reason?

I only take what I find useful, as I don't want needless clutter in my inventory. At lower levels, I might loot someone's weapons or armor if my character could use them, but at higher levels, I just loot the gold and leave everything else.

If there was a npc that I particularly didn't like, I'd loot their clothes from their corpse just to add an extra insult to injury. Not only did I kill them, but I left them nvde. After looting, I'd give the clothes back, but I just wanted to leave them naked.

This is how I look at it: If I can't just pull it right out of their pockets, I won't take it. So I grab things like coin purses, potions, scrolls, etc.

There are several reasons why I do not take off their clothing:

1. Yeah, it is pretty weird taking the clothing/armor off of a dead person.

2. If the person died a horrible gruesome death, why would I have any interest in wearing dirty, stinky, bloody, messed up outfits?

3. I take a lot of pride in making my own equipment. That includes armor and weaponry. If I don't make them, I can buy them.

4. There are plenty of wardrobes to get clothing, which haven't haven't been used, as far as I know.

So no, you're not the only one.

It's all about the money for me, will always take every coin, and if the armor's value to weight ratio is in the green, I take it. I will then chuckle at their near-nvde dead bodies. That's how I roll.

I do what I always do: whatever is appropriate to a particular character.

Do you not take the armor to sell for that gold that you look for in on dead bodies? I honestly find it difficult to make gold without taking the best gold to weight ratio items, then again I haven't tried to make a gold run before...

Factions, bounties, and collecting nothing but gold can make you "decent" money. The highest profit I ever found was using Enchanting/Alchemy/Smithing.

For example, I would collect ingredients, use combinations that I have discovered to be profitable, and I would also smith jewelry and enchant them with profitable enchants to make enough money and have items to sell left over. You can clean out the merchants and it also keeps your weight down as your adventuring.

I do it out of habit when I clean up after a skirmish. Its far easier to press 'Take All' than to look for the weapon.

I've rarely ever stolen the armor off of a dead person. Largely because I never thought that taking armor that failed to keep somebody alive was a sound strategy.

I smith my everything, but armours can be some of the most valuable items in the game, it's silly not to loot and sell them.

I see a corpse with Ebony armor on, I'm sure going to loot it. Not like he needs it anymore.

Matters entirely on my character.

Nelfarion would take it within a split second if it was worth enough gold to be worth the carry weight

His brother however would never dream of doing this as he belives it is a desecration to remove the clothing off of a defeated man.

I rarely loot dead bodies for anything really... Ingredients, maybe... That's about it. Don't ever touch weapons or armor unless they are collectable artifacts.
