A Bit Of Argonian Lore

Post » Thu Nov 14, 2013 8:44 am

The Argonians are my favorite race in the elder-scrolls. Their appearance and the little bit of history and background i know about them fascinates me, but I don't actually know much about them. I'd love to know more about their history and religion, basically the species in general. However I really want to learn more about their relegion

I've already read the wiki for Argonians and the Hist. Anything else and anything new you can tell me would be great.

Just a curious brain looking for food-for-thought.

The two Keyes novels had some insight into Argonian culture and religion. Here are the notes on the http://www.imperial-library.info/content/infernal-city-lore-notes and the http://www.imperial-library.info/content/lord-souls-lore-notes.

Argonian religion is at the moment one of the least explained parts of their lore. One of the things we do know is that they have shamans and archcanons, and in some places they may be lead by a priest-king (though probably not in places directly controlled by the An-Xileel). They revere the Hist trees, and build step pyramids for what seem to be their "gods" (like Ixtaxh-thtithil-meht, their name for Sithis). Beyond that, there isn't much lore available on their actual religion.

Argonian religion is most definitely going to be fleshed out for ESO, but that isn't launching until next year.
