HeadHelmetHood scaled larger than BodyCuirassRobe

I've noticed that whenever I import .NIFs into 3ds Max that the head/helmet/hood is scaled larger than the body/cuirass/robe. Is this an import/export error or are the head parts supposed to be scaled larger?

As of right now, I'm creating a new set of hooded robes and just scaled the size of the head down to 90% of its normal size so that it fits on the body's shoulders better. I've modeled the hood around the head and plan on scaling up the hood once I'm finished with it. Is this the correct way to go about things?

Edit: I noticed that as well, but when I exported a pair of glasses, they came out ok in game.
