Skyforge Steel Weapons

Post » Fri Nov 15, 2013 8:51 pm

Hello. I have not done The Companions questline in a long, long time. I am having a "fuzzy memory" moment :)

I seem to recall that after a time with the companions, someone directs you to see Eorland about getting a Skyforge weapon. When does that happen?

In the UESP, it states "only after the quest Glory of the Dead has been completed", but I do not recall having to be the Harbinger in order to get my first weapon made of skyforge steel. Am I mis-remembering? I had it in my head that I did Farkas's first quest and became a member, I was able to have Eorlund give me 1 weapon.

I believe it is after you do the quest with Farkas. You do not need to be Harbinger; Eorlund makes you a weapon much sooner than that.

It is Kodlak that directs you to see Eorlund, and he is quite alive when he does so. It should happen after you return with Farkas and you have that ceremony with the members of the Circle.

Just after Proving Honour. You ask Kodlak about the secret Farkas reveals when he is first attacked by the Silver Hand. He will have a quick talk with you then tell you to speak to Eurland. Eurland gives you a free Skyforge Steel weapon and Wolf Armour is in his shop inventory. It's Nord Hero weapons that become available by using the Skyforge after Glory of the Dead.

When you first go to the companions, you get a regular quest. Then Skjor sends to with Vilkas to get a fragrment and Vilkas is your shield brother on the quest. Make sure your inventory in as empty as possible for there is a lot of plunder in the dungeon. After the quest, you go back and you are given a brief ceremony where you become a companion. Then you are told to go and get the Skyforge sword. Hope all that made sense.

Why Eorlund doesn't have a mace for me? Been waiting for this mighty weapon =/

Anyone knows the strongest mace in-game avaiable?

Kodlak: "You need a better weapon then

*glares at Dragonbone/Daedric Battleaxe*

Whatever that is..."

Silly Kodlak.

There is no Skyforge Steel Mace in the game.

Without the DLCs, the strongest mace in the game would be a Daedric mace. An Ebony mace would be the second strongest.

It is a shame that not all weapons can be made of Skyforge Steel.

The steel does more damage at lower level smithing.

Can you not smith a mace at the end of the Companion Quests; or is there no point by then?

Kodlak's obviously not a power gamer. Considering his views on the Daedra, he'd probably frown on using one of their weapons. And who would be so familiar with dragonbone weapons as to be able to identify one at a glance--he'd probably think it was a horkerbone weapon!

There's no Skyforge Mace unless you're on a PC and use mods (aMidianborn, for example).
