Thinking about making the switch to PC, worth it?

Post » Mon Nov 18, 2013 6:13 am

I was about to make that remark, that in actual fact most PC games can be played with an Xbox 360 controller. I do agree that it seems to me as though Skyrim's UI is designed specifically for a controller. However, having said that, there are mods which have improved UIs specifically for mouse.

Absolutely worth it, I am currently on Xbox and I plan to be back on PC by the end of the year. I don't know why I ever went to console anyways...

This. But, even a low grade gaming PC will give you a better Skyrim experience, compared to consoles.

For the game pad, a PS4 controller is now compatible.

I know you can lol. Just sitting in front of a PC screen, holding a console controller and playing Skyrim seems pretty ridiculous to me. :brokencomputer:

Not when you have it connected to the same 47" TV and you are sitting on the same couch.

Something else to consider. Adding mods to make your gaming experience even richer is reason enough to play on the computer but even better is the ability to play with making your own mods. That is a fascinating game all in itself even more than playing the game. Get the PC version. And the Creation Kit. I've been learning myself starting out with a simple dwelling, then learning how to modify items and add new ones. The people on the forums are very helpful and patient with people new to modding. Once you start it's hard to quit. You keep having more ideas of something it would be really cool to add if only you could figure out how.

PC all the way Sir.

The ability to manipulate the look and feel of the game through mods and access console commands when things go South. As they do.

And not forgetting:

FPS issues, CTD, lag and "Skyrim.exe (Not Responding)" messages.

It's like been inducted into the fFreemason's.

Though you don't have to hop up and down with one sock on......

Apparently.

Yes its absolutely worth it I had skyrim on X-box then switched to PC when I bought a new gaming rig. If it was just a matter of graphics I would say no but the huge amount of quality mods gives the game endless potential.

I would recommend trying out the PC version. Although I still play on the Xbox 360 (and PS3), I now also play a modded game on the PC and love finally being able to fix a few problems and bugs and try new things, I am not really one for enb and graphics improvements, but might later try out some better lighting. I am hopeless with a keyboard, I use a wired Xbox 360 controller, and even took my original Xbox 360 character over to the PC to test out which mods the real PC character is going to start with.
