I have a theory.

What if, what if, the creator man from all the myths was one big creator man, as viewed by different people.

SCIENCE! shows us that sometimes when a guy see's a color he see's a different color than a different guy, like how dogs see everything as black and white and grey but we see infinite rainbows blending together like some kind of a, a, a spectrum of colors.

So what if when Elf-man see's the big creator man, he see's a dirty trickster (Lorkaan), then when Imperial-man see's the big creator, he see's a song-maker (like Benny Goodman or Frank Sinatra)! Then, then, when Nord-lady see's the big creator man, she see's a Tough Dead Warrior and he makes her swoon.

I call this theory "The One Big Myth."

I call this theory "real world logic".

I, personally, have a hard time viewing Lorkhan as anything other than one being. There had to original version, so I just choose to imagine him as one being who is moulded into 3 different shapes by creation (due to his half death) but still exists as one agent, one being with one purpose.

This isn't anything new; we are expressly told this in several ingame books and it is fundamental to a basic understanding of the lore. You just said, "Hey guys! I think that 2 = sq. root (4) = d/dx 2x"

Going on the assumption that the OP is not a troll simply because I want an excuse to legitimately point this out. It is called the "MONOmyth" for a reason: It's the same story.

I think its a shame that we even have to mention the word troll in threads like this, but it happens every time.

More than likely, the OP just had a thought and believed it was original. How is he supposed to know its already a fundamental part of our understanding of lore?

My first lore forum post was similar. Went something like this:

"Hey guys, I have this crazy idea that Talos is replacing Lorkhan's role in the mythic."

It was a poor choice of words on my part, and on second thought I apologize for it. Trolls are, by definition, out to make us angry; the OP appears to be a more thoughtful post. But I couldn't be, and still can't really be, entirely sure if the OP is completely serious here.

And as long as we're admitting our previous mistakes, my first post necro'd a discussion relating to the strange parallels between Lorkhan and Akatosh by excitedly announcing that I had found a mysterious forum post archived on TIL where MK said they were the same guy. It blew my mind, so obviously all of you need to read the (by then six-year-old) news too!

Yeah, on third thought, I really shouldn't be complaining here. Anyone got the keys to the fishystick vault? They still haven't told me where it is.

His name would seem to point to a certain amount of jocularity being present in his post.

I mean, "The One Big Myth?"

He's obviously taking the piss at our apophenia.

I've never understood that phrase. I know what it means, but why it means that and how it came about has always confused me.

Edit: Looked it up. Still weird, but at least I have a frame of reference.

Good point.

I actually didn't read the OP all the way to the end before posting.

Not sure if serious, but ya they're the same (or at least have the same source.)
