Can we talk about ash?

Post » Wed Nov 20, 2013 12:58 pm

So ive never played the other games sadly. I started with skyrim. I know there were MUCH more spells in past games.

Ash spells interest me greatly, where do they fit in the lore? Just how there is fire ice and lightning, what part of the schools is ash really a part of?

In the dragonborn DLC they are all split into different schools. It seems mostly alteration.

Ash rune and ash shell are alteration

Conjure ash guardian and ash spawn are conjuration.

And i have no clue where whirlwind cloak fits. I wish it wasn't considered a destruction spell.

I would love to have a ash skin spell that works like a mage armor spell. Or that move that the ash guardians uses.

Earth or Terra or whatever they call the Ground. There are 4 Elementals, Fire, Water, Wind and Earth.

Yep, Lightening comes from Air (more than likely air movement builds up the static charge but that discussion is for a thread on Meteorology)

Makes sense. I wish skyrim had a more diverse amount of spells. These types of things interest me.

The ash spells in Skyrim were never in any past games, so all the lore about them comes from Skyrim.

That they are in Alteration and Conjuration makes sense. Since they have to do with manipulating the earth, or creating an ash creature.

The spells seem to be created by Talvas and Master Neloth, and since they are Dunmer from Morrowind they would have extensive knowledge and interest in ash.
I guess they decided to try using it to their advantage.
