Necromage perk first ? (non vampire)

Post » Sat Nov 23, 2013 1:05 am

Hello
I have a question about the "necromage" perk for a non-vampire build
I know there are plenty of topics on this subject but i haven't found the answer i'm searching since all of them include "being a vampire"..

So here is my question :
Do i need to take first the "necromage" perk to have my others perks (illusion - conjuration) benefit from it ?
Or does the order doesn't matter ?
Precision : i don't want to be a vampire ! / It's not a vampire build !

So :
1 Necromage > others perks
2 others perks = necromage (order doesn't matter)

Which one is correct ?

I've read everywhere that u need to take this perk FIRST and then the others perks but it was always for Vampire build.
And since i don't want to be a vampire, i'm confused like hell.

I'm playing on Xbox360

It doesn't work to my knowledge if you aren't a vampire.

The "necromage" perk works on every undead.
So, it raise the level of undead "monster" your illusion spells can affect.
It also raise the level of undead "monster" (vampire) you can revive with conjurer school.

I don't believe it matters if you're not going to be a vampire.

From what i read everywhere on the web,
you need to take first the "necromage" perk in order to boost the others perks (illusion - conjuration).
If u are a vampire, it doesnt matter that u take first the necromage perk before or after being a vampire.
What it matter is you have to take the other perks AFTER the necromage perk in order to have the boost.

But i'm still wondering if it's the same if you'r not going vampire. I guess it's yes but i'd like to have a confirmation :x

It's a boost to all spells that affect undead and to my knowledge only boosts other self improving perks/spells if you're an undead vampire...it won't give any bonus to mage armor spells and the like if you're not a vamp.

Thx for the answer.
yes ! i'm aware of that. The self boost only works if u are a vampire (since ur turning undead).

But if ur not a vampire, do i need to take the necromage perk before illusion and conjuration perk in order to benefit from necromage ?

Benefit which is :
For illusion : spell work on higher undead mob.
For conjuration : you can raise higher undead (vampire)

I don't think it will boost the actual perks(unless you're a vamp), only the affect the perks have on undead creatures. Give it a try and see if you discover otherwise.

On a related 1 perk boosting another note, the Aspect of Terror perk will boost fire destruction spell damage if you have both Augmented Flames perks first.

Well since necromage work on undead.
And u cast illusion spell on undead, this is supposed to work (what i read on the net).

The benefit of this perk while being a vampire is that all your self buff will be also raised.

Yes i was aware of the Aspect of terror thing.
And this is why i ask for the necromage thing.
Btw, necromage will also boost damage from destruction spell on undead (readed on the web) but again it was a vampire build.

BUt since destruction spell are spells cast on other people, and not on self, being a vampire or not shouldn't change anything for that matter.

Necromage works on the Undead, but those perks aren't really targeted to work on the Undead, but foes in general (especially since you need one of the two level 100 Illusion perks for such spells to affect the Undead), so I doubt that they'd take effect on anything that isn't Undead to begin with.

Some of the Conjuration/Necromancy ones might benefit from Necromage being taken first, but the majority of perks shouldn't if you're not a vampire, since the effect is only activated when the spell makes impact with an enemy.
