What would your job (or life) be in the fallout universe

Post » Wed Dec 04, 2013 11:58 am

Hey guys, what would be your job in the fallout universe (lets say around the time of fallout 3 and new vegas).

For example, i think i would be a leader or a guard of a trading caravan.

Why you may ask? I have a good sense of direction, i am comfortable with long walks, i am good with animals and i am good at bartering.

So tell me what do you want to be when you glow up?

I would be a Ghoul like Raul, I am a Mechanic in Real Life and actually work on Electric Vehicles, Generators, and similiar types of Equipment for a living. The Ghoul part would be from working around two hundred Year Old Nuclear Powered Vehicles kept going with "Prospected" parts.

I'd probably be eking out a living on a secluded piece of land, slinging brahmin [censored] to fertilize the maize, potatoes and jalapenos.

I'd most likely just be a prospector, exploring the ruins for pre-war goodies.

That or look for the MWBoS to sign up. Unless it isn't run by Barnaky or they became mutant lovers.

As in based on who we are right now?

I'd be a largely untrained electronics apprentice with terrible physical skills saved only by being too skinny to be worth killing to eat.

Yes based on who we are now, so keep it realistic people. Not everyone will be a lone wanderer .

As for you specificaly, there must be some skills that you have that can come handy in the wasteland?

I'd prefer to be doing something with the Followers back in California, or something politically in NCR, but realistically I would be crucified by the MWBoS for my opposition to that whole "totalitarian" thing.

Drug runner. I'll be smuggling Jet, Psycho, Buffout and Med-X to all the junkies. Good money too.

History graduate with not much practical skill...... Possibly the FoTA teaching people about history and avoiding wars, or maybe a BoS Scribe researching pre war culture.

I'd be a corpse.

Not a walking one, like a ghoul or anything.

Just a corpse.

I'm just not fit to survive.

I'd be a Prospector, I'm an Eagle scout in the BSA. I'm a really good shot with my shotgun (or as it would be called in the wastland; my caravan shotgun.) I also took a Field medicine course this summer, so I could know some things about medicine. I'm 140 lbs, I live on a farm, so I know some stuff about farming.

TL:DR: Either farmer, Field medic, or prospector.

Assuming the settlement was safe enough, I'd be a teacher. How to use a firearm, literature, the works.

That creepy, crazy, solitary, anti-social, Pre-War Ghoul that lives in some underground subway system, completely wired up with mines and traps. Radroach and the occasional person for sustenance. Irradiated water from any pipes and Nuka-Cola I can scavenge. Nuka-Cola Quantum on those special feasts. Maybe I keep some Feral Ghouls around as pets.

I'd probably go around creating and restoring works of art in the Wasteland, occasionally scavenging for fresh materials, and raising mutated chickens for their eggs so I could make tempera paints. Maybe offer to do portraits of people in exchange for shelter and supplies, since photographs wouldn't be a common thing anymore. My time in the military as a Marine would serve me well for protecting myself from raiders and the wildlife.

TL:DR

A traveling artist with good gun skills.

I always thought my Wasteland experience would be similar to The Road, and The Last of Us. I would probably be a soldier or a guard I don't do the whole mercenary thing I don't like people who fight solely for the purpose of making money. Maybe I would run a little settlement up in the woods with like 10 people and occasionally make a trip to a major settlement to trade supplies.
