They showed us that they understood the heart and soul of Fallout when they made New Vegas. I'm not saying Bethesda Game Studios will do a bad job, but I really don't see a developer that could have made New Vegas better than Obsidian made it, and it just seems logical that the project should be given to them, so that Bethesda Game Studios can continue the franchise THEY are obviously better at making. That being Elder Scrolls.
My point is, I loved Obsidians work with New Vegas, but Fallout 3 I thought was... Ok. Also that they are removing supermutants and BoS from fallout 4 due to criticisms of overusing these two in Fallout 3 (Removing two major groups from Fallout 4 to avoid messing up the lore isn't an acceptable way of doing things. Wanna know how you do it? Don't mess up the lore and do some research). I also hear the game is going to take place in Boston, and they are changing the theme to retro-cyberpunk with lovecraftian undertones. I also heard they are trying to remove the post-apocalyptic from post-apocalyptic roleplaying game by adding more heavily developed areas. What I mean is that, again rumors, the Institute is going to be in the game and they are going to possess a G.E.C.K, which they use to build farms and immensely add to the stability of the environment. No. That isn't fallout. Fallout isn't Fallout without fallout.
New Vegas had about as much civilization and stability as Fallout should ever be allowed to get. Any more and it wouldn't be fallout. Because Fallout also isn't Fallout without anarchy.
This goes back to my original point. Fallout 4 needs to be made by Obsidian. I don't think Obsidian would ever take this route with Fallout. Unless of course all these rumors are completely false and Bethesda Game Studios ISN'T going to completely ruin Fallout 4 with their ludicrous ideas.
Lets just hope rumors aren't true. For once when it comes to Bethesda and rumors, I hope to god the rumors aren't true. Hope to god.
