So basically im trying to complete the achievement for all the daedric artifacts, so far i have got 13 of them but im having problems with getting the mace from the abandoned house. The problem is the npc hasnt spawned any where. I have checked near the stables, outside the house, waited for weeks in town, asked in the silver blood inn but the inn keep has no rumours, i am at an end with this. Also i have already done the forsworn conspiracy i have heard that can affect if he spawns or not.

i am playing xbox version btw so i cant use console commands.

thanks in advance. :)

The Vigilant isn't in front of the abandoned house?

Maybe you had a vampire attack and he fell victim. Have you checked inside the house?

i can't get inside the house because i don't have a key. And he isn't outside, he never has spawned. :(
Also i have never had any vamp attacks on markarth yet.

You could do the quest "Ill met by Moonlight" and go for both rewards. They both count towards the achievement. Meaning you do not need the mace of Molag Bal.

Wasn't the quest for Molag Bal level specific? Not really sure, I only did the daedric quests once, and never again.

Edit: If you completed the Forsworn Conspiracy, he might have died if everyone became hostile

If you have both artifacts of Hircine, you can simply ignore Molag Bal, and go after the next one.

I'm pretty sure it only counts the first artifact you get not both. So if you go for the ring first and do the trick for Savior's hide it only counts the ring, and vice versa if you go after Savior's hide first. I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure that's how it works.

Other then that I'm not much help to you OP, I have never encountered a bug that kept the Vigil guy from spawning. Sorry

"If you acquire the Ring of Hircine and the Savior's Hide, both will count towards the Oblivion Walker achievement, allowing you to earn the achievement without completing one of the "required" Daedric quests. However, the "Daedric Quests Completed" statistic (in the General Stats section of your log) is only incremented once."

I have a feeling carrots is right there. I seem to remember having 15 daedric artifacts from 14 different daedric quests (not including skeleton key here)and the achievement didn't pop. Only when I had completed the 15th quest did I get the achievement and I of course at that point had 16 daedric artifacts.

I remember the Hircine method working perfectly fine ... one year ago. It's quite possible that Bethesda has since remedied the glitch so that only the first artifact you obtain through this method counts towards the trophy. Additionally, Vigilant Tyranus is marked essential cannot be felled until you have started The House of Horrors quest which means that you've unintentionally stumbled upon what appears to be a rather vexing glitch where he doesn't spawn. I've never had nor heard of that happening, but that's rather unfortunate.

I did the Hircine double-reward thing a week ago, and got my Oblivion Walker achievement without needing to do Sheogorath's quest, so it still works for sure.

That's good, I play on the 360 and I got the achievement well over a year ago so maybe it's changed. If that's the case hopefully the OP will still be able to get the achievement even with one glitched daedric quest.

Isn't he essential until the quest tells you to kill him?
