It shouldn't be up to modders to do devs' work.
It shouldn't be up to modders to do devs' work.
Pfft... have a couple dozen kids, and see if that changes your mind.
it should be. as much as i love skyrim, bethesda needs to be focusing on all things fallout 4.
I think they're done completely, haven't heard anything about skyrim since April when they announced they were done prematurely.
Also, a lot of people seem to think they will be announcing FO4 at VGX.
I am quite surprised I got so many responses to this. D: hell, three new ones appeared while I am typing this. I can only say that I am on console, the 360 to be exact, and so mods are out of the question. I do wish they would make a way to get mods for it on the consoles, but highly unlikely. So, unfortunately DLC and updates are the only things that give me anything new.
I don't mind this I suppose, but it's quite annoying as the game has so much potential! I mean, I walk from Whiterun to Solitude, Solitude to Falkreath, Falkreath to Winterhold and I see so much empty and unused space in the game as well as meet many people, especially the Khajiit. It makes me want to go the Elswyr and it gives me so many ideas to what you could do with the game.
Such as become a thane, create your own town, hire and equip as well as train an army or something. So much possibilities. You could own a plot of land much like Hearthfire, but CHOOSE where to have it and hire people to go mine for you, work crops, and so many other things.
Create a bandit group, or take the crown for yourself. I know mods most likely do all these things, but still. I'm on console so it doesn't help. :/ Oh well, thank you all for the replies! I wish Beth didn't just drop the game so suddenly after Dragonborn.
Since quotes don't seem to be working at the moment I will just reply without them
Yes its not Modders job to do the Devs work but the Devs work is complete. One cant stay on a project forever. Bethesda provided a completed canvas for us to enjoy and through the generous gift of the Creation Kit and incredible grace in kindness of the Modders Bethesda rpgs can be anything we want them to be. Thus the artistic power to be Dungeon Masters of board games has been given to us in the realm of pc gaming.
Am still finding out things my character can do like burning enemies with torches a week ago which I didn't know I was capable of doing since getting SKYRIM on 11-11-11. Its just amazing how much is in SKYRIM without mods and how brilliantly the three dlcs of HEARTHFIRE, DAWNGUARD, DRAGONBORN add to the base structure of the game world.
I have to say, I think that's a fantastic point. I am very pleased with what they did with Skyrim. Of course, I'd love more, but I'm not letdown by what we've gotten. I always had a serious problem with people who complained about the cost of the game or DLC, for two reasons, first, you don't have to buy it until it comes down in price, and second, compared to many, if not most, other franchises the cost was very reasonable. I bought the original game for half-price, not long after release, and got at least 30% off of each DLC when I purchased them. By comparison, my wife's favorite game Sims is a nightmare to keep up with. There are dozens of expansions, that offer little substance to the core game, but the are all priced at or near a full-priced game.
Yes sims is pretty famous for the 8 or something dlc, in addition to item packs.
However compared to some tricks tried nowadays its pretty tame: Forza 5 is asking for DLC prices to unlock single cars.
At least the sims dlc has real content even is usually overpriced for that you get.
Borderlands 2 is also getting ridiculous with the DLC's.
