In Oblivion frost was my favorite element of destruction, but due to Skyrim's cold harsh setting & high resistances to it from the residents, i tend to use flames more.

I'm indifferent, whatever is most useful at the time.

I just wish they had a "green" element since that's my favorite color.

Fire has always been my favorite, shock is powerful but makes me feel like a Sith lord and frost is weak...really wish there was a freeze spell instead of a shout where you can freeze an enemy then smash them to pieces.

I was always bothered by the fact that they're not really "benders" as every other type needs their element available to use it while fire benders magically conjure it up from their hands. Just had to throw my 2 cents on the table with that :P

Welcome to the forums. For a spellsword type of character I usually go with light armour as it affords better movement, add a few enchantments to it of your choice and you should be fine.

That's another tough poll to answer.

I like Frost for my Role Play style, yet Fire seems to do much more damage. I also like the chain lightning spell

I don't think I have a "favorite" (or favourite for our European friends) type that is heads above the rest. I guess I'll choose fire, because the question is combat oriented and fire gets me out of combat quicker than the others.

Fire is my main element, although frost and shock are also my main elements, depending on who I am fighting. Most of the time, I use fire. Against mages, I use shock and fire dragons I use frost. I also use frost on some mages, for when fighting them it tells in the health bar if they are a fire, frost or shock mage, and then I use the element opposite of what they are.

I've recently become enamored with frost magic - I know, there are significant limitations so fire and shock are close at hand. I gotta tell ya, there's nothing like ice storm! You don't have to aim carefully (unlike shock spells) and you the spell slows your opponent. The three perks in the destruction tree for frost are all good ones (unlike fire where the final perk just has enemies running away) and they are more quickly available than shock.

Shock. Gameplay wise frost and fire are slightly less nice because shock has no travel time at all (while side effects of all 3 elements are completely irrelevant, they might have as well not add them), + shock launches giants over towns and generally looks badass, I always liked the effect of lightning bolts jumping around.

Irrelevant? The only side effect that is irrelevant,(in my eyes) is fire's after burning.

I like the 3 of them, but summoning a storm atronach and hitting it with chain lightning to strike enemies around the corner is really nice.
