2015 is looking more and more better by the day. 2014 is extremely crowded with titles and it also gives an extra year which is always helpful. Although at that point it would have been 5 years since a fallout game was released but Oblivion to Skyrim's gap was the same amount of time.

Mmm, not too concerned with the variety of websites that "might" be legitimate. The survivor2299 was the original focal point. Cryptic as it is, it serves a purpose. Other sites that soon picked up this torch, tumblr, twitter, what have you..., are likely "homebrew" creations wanting to fan the hype and participate as a focal point also. Some have owed up to this, but there are others who continue to spread dis-information. It's human nature to try to fill in the blanks if a badly needed/wanted message is incomplete.

Until Bethesda provides clarity, we are all just playing within smoke and mirrors. "Something is coming" is really about all we can be certain of. We can't even be certain of the "when" yet, though my money remains on VGX. though the countdown termination point of the 2299 website might shed more light. Or maybe not.....

If Bethesda really is getting close to begin their marketing of FO-IV then passing up the VGX opportunity makes little sense. We learned today Bethesda would not be physically present, nor were any new "Announcements" forthcoming. So what's left?

Speculation: Something appears at the very end of the VGX presentation which adds to the mystery while leaving nothing specific.

Imagine this.... The Big screens shutdown, MCs begins to thank everyone for attending, then the lights suddenly dim unexpectedly. A single big screen flickers amid the sound of static, then lights up revealing an aerial shot of a thoroughly non-descript nuked city, it could be anywhere. There are no words , no text, no music, silence excepting maybe the sound of the wind, as we follow a quick zoom down until all that is seen is a broken concrete wall upon which is scrawled the 2299 version of the Fallout avatar..... then, Fade to Black.... The whole transmission lasts no more than 45 seconds.

Fallout 4 needs a mission which is a entire spoof of the horrible Mass Effect 3 ending structure

They should do a mock teaser for FO4 where they "reveal" the canon ending for New Vegas as a means of ending that chapter of Fallout before moving on to FO4, in which they depict the Courier confronting Ulysses at the Divide, and no matter what option you choose as far as what to do with the launch, the nukes explode anyways the world erupts in nuclear fire. All the while, the music from Mass Effect's ending plays.

Oh but there's slight differences. Choosing to cancel the launch gives you blue fire, launching it at the NCR gives red fire, launching it at Caesar gives green fire and launching it at both gives black flames.

The "epilogue" clip where they land on the green planet would just be the Courier and Ulysses standing at the top of the Divide looking at everything on fire as the triumphant music plays.
