MWSE does not start up?

Post » Sat Dec 07, 2013 2:23 pm

Well after a few years i decided to install MW again. So i have, and about an hour ago i installed MWSE0.9.4a and wanted to try and see if it worked. It did not, i mean i can see in Process Hacker that it starts but after a few seconds it is automatically terminated? Now i am the only one living in my house so i have a admin account on Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit, so in principal it should not matter that i installed MW in C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind\ ?

This is what i have http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w172/Illius_photos/TES/Problems/InstalledSoFar_zpsee47706d.jpg so far. I need MWSE because i want to give Chesko's mod http://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/39030/? a try.

Right now i have no idea why MWSE does not start up as it should?

Just to be sure, are you running MGE?

If you aren't sure if MWSE is working (I can't remember if it's executable actually needs to be running alongside Morrowind), try downloading and installing a mod that requires it, such as "http://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/42329" and see if it works.

Yes, it matters. If the game is in a UAC directory, you can have all kinds of issues. You can get around most of them by shutting down some Windows security. Best to move it to another location. Nice thing about Morrowind, is you can click and drag the root install folder to just about anywhere, make a shortcut to that launcher, and you are all set.

No it does not change a thing, MWSE still does not start. Oh and i forgot to mention that the UAC is completely deactivated on my system. ( I know it adds a layer of security, but i hat the UAC. )

CCNA...despite what i mentioned i will give that a try.

EDIT: Well i drag and dropped Morrowind to Games so it is now in C:\Games\Morrowind\. I can start MW but MWSE still refuses to work?

Nice to see you around these parts again, Illius. I can't really help with your problem but most people run MGE (or MGE XE) and enable its inbuilt MWSE. Perhaps that might be worth a try?

Oh, maybe there's something in event viewer? I dunno if MWSE generates a log either...
