No Weapon sounds - internal install : V

Basically - on windows 7 everything worked perfectly. No issues, with 5.1 surround. With LOTS of mods even.

NOW - same computer and everything, just on windows 8. Vanilla. There are no weapon sounds. there’s ambient, music, voice just fine. It’s driving me crazy. I have realtek HD audio, onboard.

I'm using an Internal drive. I know others have had this issue because they were installed on an external. This is not the case with me.

I played the TES Online beta and everything sounded great. Also, OBLIVION and morrowind sound great. wat heck skrim

I know there are known volume issues with skyrim and realtek but they aren't related to my problem. I've tried re-installing, switching to stereo instead of surround, headphones, nothing is working. Any suggestions?

It could be a corrupted sounds.bsa file !!!!!

delete your skyrim.ini. (C:\Users\[Your name]\Documents\My Games\Skyrim)

then delete your sounds.bsa file. (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim\Data)

At last go here: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335 and Verify your game cache files.

btw, i have windows 8.1 and i am using the on-board Realtek HD audio sound chip too. (with default windows 8.1 drivers)
