Skyrim issues

Post » Sat Dec 07, 2013 7:56 am

I posted a thread here maybe a week ago asking for help on how to fix game-breaking glitches on my Xbox360S (the black one)

  • Textures not loading
  • Game crashes when I go to the map

I did the obvious, clean out my xbox and clean the disc. I also got a new hard drive that holds over 300MG, so that Skyrim could have more space - people were saying I was experiencing these glitches because I needed more space.

So transferred all my profiles and saves onto the new Hard Drive, but I am still experiencing the same problems. Please, I am desperate for help. I don't want to call Microsoft just yet, for I don't know if they'll replace my Xbox for free - I don't have warranty on it :(

I play on Xbox and have never had these issues, but I'm very conscientious about keeping my file size low and proactively dealing with other things that cause problems on the Xbox. Have you tried posting this in the Xbox section of the forums? I think you'll get more help there.

I also play on xbox 360s. You have cleaned your cache, but you need to do it at least twice. Disable all your auto saves, and just save a lot. Do not keep anymore than at least 10 saves at a given time. I have never had any problems with not having enough space, and very few texture problems. I also installed Skyrim onto the hard drive along with about 8 other games. Hope this helps.

And never save over an existing save as that's just asking for problems with freezing.

No problem, I'm trying to think of anything else that could help the OP. I play on xbox as you know and don't have anything like the problems this poor guy is having. Keep thinking we must of overlooked something somewhere.

The game crashes are known, but the textures have something to do with the HUD in the settings. Both of mine are all the way to the right.

I do that a lot, never knew. I'll load a save and make a new save for it and see if that changes anything. Thanks!

I've had my auto saves disabled for months, and I do save a lot, but I don't keep more than 3 files. I've cleared my cache once, I'll try it again. Also, my textures aren't just not loading, they're purple O_O

Could be the reason for your problems right there, lets hope so anyway. Keep us posted as to how it pans out now, fingers crossed!
