duplicating the ammo press

Post » Sun Apr 25, 2010 12:02 am

I am working on a bunker style home of sorts, and want to try and duplicate the ammo press (with electronic ammo as well) in a manner that doesn't require users to have the pitt dlc (I tend to prefer to do things that don't require expansions when I do mods so anyone can use them)

It's a complicated script/terminal setup it seems... is there an easier way to do it?

im a noob when it comes to modding, but if you want to make a non Pitt version, Id guess youd copy/paste the script from the ammo press itself and add it to say an ammo crate?
Youd have to add more script to it yourself to add the Energy ammo's (Feel free to correct me on anything in this post)

Just be carefull, they just might pull the 'You can't take stuff from a DLC for a mod that doesn't require it' card on you. But they shouldn't and if they do thats stupid because anyone could make that script pretty easily. (just taking the time to do it) So go for it and try what DragoonOfDeath suggested.

All of the stuff needed in order for it to function is in the vanilla game (besides text). The actual ammo press model (the machine behind the ammo bin with molten metal) is a DLC asset, but it's purely cosmetic. There's a terminal with sub terminals, a bin (dumpster), a couple scripts and a few globals. The terminal is the hardest part (ties it all together), the rest is cake. As far as adding energy ammo, just do it the same way they do the other ammo types. But the formula for the conversion, you'll have to decide for yourself (x amount of this other stuff will get y amount of energy cells and vice-versa).

If they do get mad about DLC, it would just be text. Would be interesting to hear their stance on that.

What Ez0n3 said is right. It does run off vanilla stuff, so forget what I said, it will be fine to use I'm sure. The ammo press however wont, unless it only uses vanilla stuff (and it almost sounds like it does) I dont know I dont have the pitt.
