Interior cell problems

Hey everyone! I'm back to Skyrim after several painful months without a working computer, and I can safely say that I don't remember how to avoid or fix a lot of my bugs now. I've only loaded the vanila Skyrim esm and the mod I'm working on.

Interior cells are being somewhat glitchy and stubborn right now. For one thing, they keep spawning with a layer of grass near the bottom. While this isn't exactly a major issue for me, it causes quite a bit of lag and becomes problematic whenever I want to look down... In addition, toggling grass doesn't actually get rid of it.

Also, there are some fields that just won't stay edited. I'm using a dwemer lighting template in the cell information, with "fog near" unchecked so that I could edit it. Whenever I close the cell window, though, it just resets to 0.

Finally, I can't get water to appear in my cell. No matter what height I set it to, it just resets to 0 like I mentioned before and nothing appears (and yes, I do have view water turned on).

I'd greatly appreciate any help that can be offered. Thanks in advance!

Fog Near - What level are you trying to set this too? If you uncheck the box (Which means it isn't being inherited) it should work. Make sure you are setting it to a value that is lower than 'Fog Far'.

Water - Interior cells do not use the water system like exterior cells do. Instead, you have to manually place water. It's under 'Activators' and is named things like Water1024. You have many options, so find what fits the situation best and place it in your cell. You can scale the water if it is not big enough, or snap several of them together. Warning: I believe scaled water 'culls' via roombound based on the center of the water plane object. If you place it so it covers 6 rooms, then place roombounds so that only 2 rooms are ever rendered at once, if the 'center' room is culled the water will likely disappear. Use many planes snapped together to avoid this.

Thanks for the info! I vaguely remembered water working that way, but I thought a single level could still be set. I also didn't know that bit about scaled water and room bounds; thanks for that!

As for fog near, I've done everything you mentioned. My fog distant was at several thousand, and my near was set to 450, inheritence box unchecked. It seems to work until I close the cell window. The fog in the room doesn't change, and when I look at it in the cell window the fog near value will always be at zero.
