I was just fighting Morokei when I noticed that he didn't do any damage, just drained my mana. I tried restarting the fight a couple of times and it looked like sometimes he summoned a Storm Atronach, but still didn't seem to do any damage on his own. However, I noticed that I was receiving damage when getting close to him, but except for that .. nothing. I suppose this is some kind of bug, but I'd like to be sure. If confirmed, are there any solutions? Also, is he supposed to summon the Atronach every time (because it doesn't look like he's doing that )?

Looking at the Wiki, the only bug could be that he did not equip the Staff of Magnus. Does he have the staff equiped?

In my experience, he nearly killed me, but Stenvar saved my hide. He didn't even kneel.

I guess without the staff, he has only a select few spells ready, one of them being the atronach summoning.

On what console(or PC) are you? You might want to clear the game cache.

He seems to be wielding a staff.. I'm running the PC version. I tried to use the "Verify integrity of game cache" option. It turned out that one of the files had some problems and Steam reacquired it. After it completed, I started the game but he still seems to be having the same bug.

If I may ask, how do I clear the cache? I suppose it's not the same as verifying its integrity.

does anyone know if his mask actually fortifies shouts? from personal experience? I'm on xbox

The effect of the staff is to drain magicka until the targets magicka has depleted. Once the target has no magicka it will start dealing health damage.

It is not a bug.

I recently completed the College questline with my Ranger. He wanted to get into Saarthal and had to go through the College to do so, after running through Saarthal, he realized he needed to follow everything through, even though he was no mage. When I fought Morokei, I nearly died several times, as I have not put a single level into Magicka. I also remember getting flanked by the Storm Atronach as well as receiving lightning attacks from Morokei himself.
