Ok, so, this has something that's kinda bothered me for a decent period of time now. Ever since I discovered you could make missing a non-issue using console commands at the start of the game I've been doing it with every character I make, but the problem with this is that it makes weapon skills extremely unbalanced.
As far as I know, the way the original game handles weapon skills is, the higher your skill, the greater chance you have at hitting the target. With missing out of the picture, this makes weapon skills functionally useless, as you can use any weapon you choose with no penalty.
So, what I suggest as a possible rebalance of this is skill based weapon damage modifiers. I'm not sure if this is possible with pure scripting, I imagine it could potentially be done by adding a strength buff/drain based on your skill level and adding either feather or burden to negate effect on fatigue, but there might be a better way that I'm not thinking of. Anyways, trying to use a weapon without training would do very, very little damage, even if the weapon was really good. Subsequently, leveling the skill up would make you do significantly more damage, allowing you to be extremely dangerous even with the worst weapons.
To be honest, I think this would be a welcome addition to the game even for those who play with the hit chance based gameplay. Even without it it would bring back the much needed learning curve with weapons and make combat in this game significantly more fun and rewarding.
Can someone make this mod?
