Which race made sense to you?

The Elder Scrolls games are all about choice, you pick WHO you wanna be and play how you wanna play, however it is my belief that certain games had certain races that made more sense to play, and I'm curious if people would agree

Morrowind: Dunmer or Altmer

Dunmer: The Story of Morrowind is set in non-other then..Morrowind, mainly VVardenfell the Dunmer Homeland. And since you are the reincarnation of Nerevar who was a chimer, and the Chimer race became the Dunmer, it only makes sense.

Atlmer: Same reason as above mainly, the Chimer were at one point Altmer, but they split apart and left the Summerset Isles thus becoming the Chimer.

Oblivion: Imperial or Nord

Imperial: Oblivion takes place in the Seat of the Empire, the very capital of Tamriel. Thus the Champion of Cyrodill being Imperial makes sense.

Nord: Imperial and Nord history are so inter-mingled a Nord Champion would also be plausible, though more so Imperial

Skyrim: Nord or Dunmer

Nord: The game takes place in Skyrim, and the Nord people were the ones who lived under Dragon Rule, so a Dragonborn being Nord only makes sense

Dunmer: Kind of a stretch, but with the RED YEAR many Dunmer relocated to Skyrim thus a Dunmer Dragonborn coming to Skyrim would be plausible, though a Nord would make more sense.

Daggerfall: Breton

Breton: Daggerfall takes place in High Rock, the Breton homeland, logically when you send an agent to a place you send someone who will blend in. So (to me) the Emperor sending an Agent of the Breton Race would make sense

***Please Note I only loosely know the story of Daggerfall so I may be wrong about this***

Please know this is just my personal opinion, others are welcome :) Arena and Battlespire I know next to nothing about. And Redguard you dont pick your race.

Morrowind - I played Bretons almost exclusively in that game. Breton warriors, to be specific. My one exception was an Altmer, for awhile. After that, modded races exclusively.

Oblivion - I was still playing Breton warriors when Oblivion came out. Later, I played a couple of Dunmer a Bosmer and an Altmer. After that, modded races.

Skyrim - two Dunmer, then an Altmer, then a Bosmer. After that, modded races.

Playing the race belonging to the province maybe makes sense, but I never thought of that when embarking on my Oblivion journey ;)

For my main protagonist, I generally go with whatever I feel like, usually Breton(Arena, Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim) or Khajiit(Daggerfall, Skyrim), without worrying about what makes "more sense." If I'd follow that logic, I'd be playing a stereotypical heroic good guy with a superhero build and a gigantic chin in every game.

I find it's more fitting to play outsiders than people that fit in since the games pretty much go out of their way to make you into one, to the point where in Morrowind even Dunmer player characters are considered outlanders. Incidentally, Morrowind and Daggerfall are the only games where I played the native race, and even then they weren't the Nerevarine/Agent.

One teensy thing I noticed in Daggerfall, though. It would make much more sense to play anything but Bretons and Redguards. My reasoning? The natives of High Rock and Hammerfell don't seem to realize that they are Breton/Redguard themselves when you speak to them. In my initial run of Daggerfall as a Breton I would laugh at how often I'd get things like "Why should I help a Breton?" or "You Bretons always asking for things..." from another Breton. It's similar to Arena where you'd get racial slurs in your own province by members of your own race, which can't be avoided as you have to visit every single province in that game.

Morrowind: Nord.. But Id rather play Dark elf then Altmer makes more sense

Skyrim: Def Nord

Oblivion: Def Nord

Daggerfall: Haven't played but an Elf or Nord would suit me.. Breton would make more sense

If i play the main quest i usually pick the race that belongs to the province the game takes place in. But imo except for Skyrim you can pretty much play any race and it makes especially in Oblivion

Morrowind: Every race could be the Nerevarine imo. The only races that don't fit are Khajiit and Argonians. I just don't think the dunmer would except a beast as the reincarnation of Nerevar.

Oblivion: Every race imo

Skyrim: Only Nords and maybe and Imperial or Breton. The Nords usually don't like a lot of other races and when i hear how Khajiit and Argonians don't even have the permission to enter cities then playing them doesn't make a lot of sense to me. The Game treats you like a Nord that's why i play one.
