Enchanting Disenchanting help please

Post » Wed Dec 11, 2013 8:21 pm

Right, i need some help, i disenchanted a weapon of soul snares ( Capture if dies within 5 seconds ) , now my question is, i just found the bow of maeldiction or something, and it captures if dies within 15 seconds,, but that can't be disenchanted since i've already disenchanted the 5 second one.

Can the enchanting of a weapon be better than one u disenchanted? as in, can the enchantment i have from disenchanting 5 second one yield a 15 or even 20 second soul snare? If not, what's the way around it?

Strength of the enchantment does not count when disenchanting. You'll always learn the the base strength and that will used (along with your enchanting skill and perks) to calculate the strength of the new enchantment.

it doesn't matter what strength the disenchantable thing is.

I don't know exact enchantment uses on weapons so I'll use an apparel example.

you find a 10% bow damage and a 25& bow damage
it is best to disenchant the 10% bow damage because it will allow the player to enchant their apparel with 40% bow damage (maximum enchanting level and all centre perks).
The 25% disechantable thing will also give you the ability to make 40% bow damage enchantments.

Basically, whoever enchanted the bow has a higher enchantign level than the one who enchanted the item that you actually disenchanted.

It does not matter. If you dis-enchant and item, all you get is the learned enchantment.

Example

In your inventory you have 2 daggers. One for 10% absorb stamina, and one for 6% absorb stamina. If you dis-enchant the 10% dagger, you get a learned enchantment called absorb stamina. If you dis-enchant the 6% dagger, you get a learned enchantment called absorb stamina.

The only difference between the two is that you get a few more enchanting points for dis-enchanting the 10% than you do for the 6%.

Hope that made sense.
