Do you want Skyrim people to have Birthsign powers?

Birthsigns and birthsign powers are a unique feature of TES. They were present in Morrowind, but in Oblivion only the player had a birthsign and the relevant powers. You never saw an Argonian bandit with the Lover sign use the Lover's Kiss on an Imperial Legion so that her companions could finish him off. An Altmer magician with the Ritual sign turning your own undead summon against you with Blessed Word? Unheard of in TES 4. Or a Nord Marauder boss of the Serpent sign using Cobra's Dance ( gotten from a Serpent Birthsign Doomstone ) to poison his enemy that had come to close? I wish I could see an Apprentice birthsign use fortify health on himself to abuse his native 100% Weakness to Magicka by amplifying his boost.

Would you like to see Skyrim humanoids have birthsigns and use their birthsign powers against the player and each other? Would you like to see birthsigns and associated powers receive makeovers for them to be useful to everyone?

Powers that enemies could have used in Oblivion:

The Apprentice
Lots more magicka, permanent
Absolute weakness to magic
Because of the above, spells such as fortify magicka 100 is amplified on the Apprentice

The Lord
Blood of the North - Restore health several times per day

The Lover
Lover's Kiss - Paralyze a close target at a cost of fatigue, once per day

The Ritual
Blessed Word - Turn undead to your bidding multiple times per day
Mara's Gift greater - Restore full health, once per day

The Serpent
Serpent Spell - One spell with four effects, once per day
* Strong poison on close target
* Cure self of poison
* Strong dispel magicka on self
* Strong fatigue penalty to pay for the spell
Cobra's Dance - Acquired from Serpent Birthsign Doomstone
* Stronger poison and paralyze on close target, once per day

The Tower
Tower Key - Open average lock to get at a locked enemy, once per day
Tower Warden - Reflect damage to attacker, once per day
Warden Key - Acquired from Tower Birthsign Doomstone; Open a hard Lock to get at a locked enemy, once per day
The Master's Hand - Strong boost to armorer for a short time, once per day

The rest of the birthsigns had passive effects, so I did not list them.

I'd settle for cast on use enchantments rather than constant effect everything. The powers were cool and I wish they'd make a comeback too but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

i forgot which mod it was but it made birthsing ablilities scalable so they werent overpowering early on but completely useless after level 20. some of the birthsigns werent used at all because they were just useless and more powerful spells were available early on.

The heck? there better be birthsigns. that is a element that defines your character...similar to this perk thing people have been barking about. :obliviongate:

From my understanding being born "under a sign" is different then being born during that zodiacal period. Look at the Nerevarine Prophesy, one part is that the Nerevarine will be born under a sign, if that meant born under a zodiacal period it would cover . . . everyone, not much of a clue. :D

I wouldn't be against a few NPCs having birthsigns but I don't think they should all have them.

They need to drop the simple birthsign system in favor of the advantages/disadvantages, then apply those to the npc's as needed. The birthsigns are so simple and disposable, I can't believe they came up with them for the Elder Scrolls.

I think being born under a sign isn't something that happenings 2 everyone. But having some npc with them would be cool. And maybe they join a special group or something.. Could have a quest :P

I really enjoyed the Birthsign system that Oblivion used - it wasn't overpowered, and let us customize our character a little in the direction we wanted to go.

Thats one mechanic I feel they got right, and hope to see a return in some form!

they need to include an option to have your birthsign tatooed on your body and where you choose it to be placed.
