How can I view the map on the screen

Post » Sun Dec 15, 2013 4:54 am

Hi,

I just began playing Oblivion after playing Morrowind in the past.

On Morrowind you could see the map on the screen without having to press the tab key and enter the inventory. It was comftarble that I could see as I walked the immidiate vacinity on the map and see if it had "dark" spots so I could know I wasn't there. Like I said you can check it as well on Oblivion but as far as I know, only if you enter the inventory.

So my qurstion is this: Is there a way to leave the map on the screen all the time?

No, not as far as I know. There is a minimap mod out there which can tell you where you are, but I'm not sure on its reliability.

Me too. Except for... that's right the journal. It was simply horrible on Morrowind.

I'm definitely the odd one here, but I like the Morrowind journal. It's more like an actual journal that the character might have kept, a bit messy, and with entries in sequential order. It can be frustrating to find things in there, but that's also true of an actual paper journal. I thoroughly dislike the tabbed Oblivion journal which auto-sorts your complete quests. It's like your character is carrying an iPad around with him. It's "handy," but it spoils the mood of the game.

No HUD is better. :P

I never looked at the map or the rest in Morrowind anyway.

I'm the kind of player who likes to go everywhere on the map. That's why I must find a way to do have the map on the screen at all times
