Your most terrible character losses in Skyrim.

Post » Wed Dec 18, 2013 8:15 am

I've had Tyra Stormcloak, an amazing character that felt really alive and passionate.

But it seems that I have been running on terrible luck. After all, my character has 6 save files, and all of them became corrupt. So after being pissed for a little while, I had to delete her.

*sigh*

Anybody had lost a character that really felt ''special'' to you? Because damn it svcks. Like a storybook just faded away.

My first Skyrim character, an Argonian nightblade that I'd used to discover %98 of Skyrim? Accidentally over writ the save.

Poor Cezeera...

(My other saves just stopped becoming playable after discovering so many locations, 'cause I'm a filthy console peasant.)

Fortunately I have never lost a character and I can only imagine how much it svcks. I would be absolutely gutted to lose one that I had put a lot of time into. How did your file become corrupted?

I have no idea. Honestly, my ps3 has been doing weird things lately in the first place. At times, it doesn't even want to load games or other options and just freeze on the menu. Honestly, I can't wait untill I get a decent pc for Skyrim but that will take a while.

I think the only time I had something like that happen was my first pure mage Dunmer. All magic schools at 100 with every single perk. He was bad ass. Then one day I went to create a new character and my stupid PS3 deleted him :(

But it gave me an excuse to start over.

I lost an amazing male Nord DiD character called Yngol Storm-Blade. Nazeem killed him so I had to delete him. :(
He was the only male character I really enjoyed playing as.

I miss him. :(

Ah so that explains your undying hatred for Nazeem. Now I get it.

I'm on the xbox and get the odd freeze every so often but never a corrupted file. Must be horrible playing with that in the back of your mind that it may happen again. Lets hope it was a one off occurrence.

I guess this gives me time to develop Leysa. The Gothic inspired ''Necrolord''.

A dual wielding warrior who also uses illusion to strike fear, and Necromancy for Undead minions. Imagine her as this elegant mistress in Daedric armour.

I just need to come up with a good Nordic surname, like that ''Free-winter'' guy has.

Leysa is Norse for tear, which fits her depressive and sorrowful personality, but at the same time wouldn't be odd for a Nord to call his Daughter that.

That said, it seems that Leysa also means ''purchase'' and ''depart'' in the same language, so that may be a bit awkward. For all I know Leysa may also mean tear as in ''I will tear you apart.''

So eh, maybe I'll end up changing the name aswell. I'm quite the perfectionist.

I lost my level 65 Redguard Mercenary. I was literally on the brink of tears. Man I had put so many hours in to that guy......

I once had a horrifying bug in which Esbern constantly fast-traveled to me saying, "Please. Delphine is very worried about you." even after I spoke to them.

I reverted to the oldest save I could find and did a cross-country trip to talk to Delphine just to be safe, but it was useless. The save was beyond repair.

You might have inspired me to create an Argonian nightblade.

How did...Nazeem...?

And my best character was Nyrosa Almora, pure mage Red headed Breton, Got to lvl 50 with her and was 140 hours in...but then I made a new character and poof I deleted her :(

After that, I was inspired to keep more than 3 saves for each character.

I gave all NPCs in whiterun a daedric warhammer with over 1,000 damage so they could survive vampire attacks. I made the mistake of angering Nazeem.

........I'm sorry but I laughed so hard at that

Nazeem would love to that to me...I've killed him in every playthrough I've done.

I had an Imperial as my first ever character. At about level 27, the account froze and I was forced to delete it and start over. I was 2 months into the game. But the second time was much easier and I blazed through the game. I reached level 20 in like 3 days. By the first week I was well into the 30s. I discovered a lot of stuff that I missed playing the first time.

That's quite a novel way of getting around vampire attacks. Like your thinking!

Never "lost" a character, but just started my first DID character recently so that will probably by him.

Master difficulty, Nord two-hander, light armor, alteration, smithing, restoration, block. No ranged attack...

Really enjoying the DiD gameplay feeling so far.

Not so much lost but ruined. barnum, my Imperial was a good stealth/warrior character. I mixed his story up so that he has been tainted by ancient artifacts (inspired by my favourite books) and is an evil battlemage. However, legendarying all my combat skills to feed magic has left Barnum as a terrible mage and a very weak fighter. He is level 70.

it's going to be such a horrible grind to make him just half-decent again... :/

lol how did that happen? Maybe you mistakenly gave him a very powerful weapon and your character was too weak at the moment?
