Break of Dawn Death bug!

Post » Thu Dec 19, 2013 1:44 am

Weeks ago I found a bug in The Break of Dawn quest

I can no longer play Skyrim because this game-breaking bug.

THE BUG

After I receive Dawnbreaker I fall to my death.

I've tried everything I found on the Google yet nothing helped.

ON MY BEHALF

I'm stupid, I didn't save before killing Malkoran.

I've reported this (possible) bug to Bethesda weeks ago and they NEVER RESPONDED

WHAT I'VE TRIED

I've tried everything I found on Google this includes:

* Becoming Ethereal, It doesn't work when she transports you to the sky *Running North,East,South, and West to lower land, Not enough time. * Dropping items, I dropped everything I had except, quest items (0 weight) still died.

* Standing still, Doesn′t work, you still die.

* Waiting did nothing but change time.

* Pressing START whilst you′re falling, died.

*Running to her statue, landed on Meridia′s statue died

[EDITED]

-------------------------

I′m pretty bummed out because of this...

My favourite game is now ruined because of this I′m almost at level 40 and I′ll be really sad to start over again..

I hope Bethesda takes notice.

Try clearing the memory cache on your PS3.
This often helps with weird bugs that cannot be bypassed any other way. (This does not erase your save files)

And you should get in the habit of making various back-up saves ;)

Getting no response from Bethesda concerning a game glitch is perfectly normal. They are done supporting/updating Skyrim, and also don't offer tech support like this for individual cases.

I think I've tried that before, but I'll try it today.

I don't suppose you could fast travel whilst in the air? If so you could try fast travelling to somewhere over water, and try to land in the sea.

You can't....

Sorry I took too long I was at the optician, anyways, I have SKYRIM and Skyrim Update, which one should I delete?

[EDIT] Also will I lose progress for all DLCs?

[EDIT#2] I deleted both of them and It didn't work, sadly. :shakehead:

Actually that's the problem: Save before collecting the sword, after told to do so. Sometimes when the Dragonborn is dropped back down to land by Meridia, after being summoned, they will be killed upon landing.

Possible Solution: It is possible to escape this glitch by running towards the water after the conversation with Meridia. Also try restarting the PS3 and attempting again, it's a matter of loading out of falling before hitting the ground, if the load is too slow or the Dragonborn is positioned too far uphill they hit the ground and die.

That's a glitch, but coincidence too....i have done this three times and nothing funny happened.

What you can try:

Delete your DLC's and try without those waiting for 31 days (in-game) on another cell. After that make a new manual save. Load that save and then try again.

(And yes stand still looking straight ahead, and choose the second option after Meridia talks to you)

If you don't have any other spare save, wait at the temple for 31 days...

I mean outside the temple far away....

Nope, if you don't delete your saves. (Actually after you figured it out with that quest install the DLC's again.)
