Hundreds of hours into this game and this is the first time I've ever seen a dragon fly over Riften while inside the walls. I know of the dragon-shouting-run-inside-walls to get the dragon in the city, but this wasn't the case. There was no dragon outside the walls before I entered it.

First, my dragons turn stealth, and now this.

This is turning out to be one of the best Skyrim games I've ever had!

So, was this a fluke or have you seen dragons flying over cities as well while inside the walls?

I have been seen dragon inside riften, markath, solitude (most often of 3 cities).

Never had one in windhelm and whiterun.

According to guide sometime dragin attack walled cities so I think it's normal just probably rare.

I've had plenty of walled city dragon attacks. Mostly in Windhelm and Whiterun.

My only in-city dragon fight was in Solitude. And it was amazing! So, no, this is not a bug, it was meant to happen some day.

I've had dragons spawning inside major cities a few times. Once in Whiterun, couple times in Riften and couple times in Solitude. Never in Markarth or Windhelm though.

But yes, dragons can spawn in walled cities. It's rare but can happen.

Interesting. Okay, another question: about what level do you all notice this?

I ask because once I hit level 40, that's when I saw a dragon outside of Whiterun. Usually, the only dragon near Whiterun are the scripted (early) and the one behind, which doesn't pop open until the MQ is started past Kynesgrove (which I've not done yet).

All my dragon attacks are from the random variety, unless I visit a wall.

Hmm. I wonder if this is the reason for my stealth dragons, not doing the MQ. I dread climbing those stairs, even on a horse (and so far, I've lost 3 horses to dragons.).

I've had a dragon attack in Whiterun at level 1.

Had one inside of Riften too. Few years ago and never again.
